I'm not sure how much of a fair assessment this is, but they do seem to have a remarkably short temper when it comes to their managers, at least over the past five years. |

That's not a wildly promising sign to be honest. We'd be offering them very good money that fits with their business model as well, would they want to risk him if they thought it was going to happen? [Post edited 25 Aug 14:41]

I thought it wasn't an unreasonable predication at the time, it was fair to expect that those first games were incredibly tough and unfortunately it seems to have gone the way of last year where we have started as a struggling team and need to snap out of it.
Whilst overall I'm not too stressed, one thing that is beginning to worry me is the sunk cost "fallacy" on show. We have a few very expensive players who aren't performing/the team isn't balanced with them all in it, and there doesn't seem to be a sign that this will change - yet in the past McKenna has been pretty adaptable, and now that seems to have gone. I think the pushing out of Woolfenden is the prime example of this.
Hirst will come good, he's needed to link stuff up but the players around him aren't being incisive/getting into space enough. Once we fix that he'll be great again. |

I don't think it can be understated quite how much those two opening fixtures might have dampened our season.
Muric's confidence was nuked at Man city, and for a team that had thrived on mental togetherness an early win may well have made us a hell of a lot harder to beat. |

I don't think it's unfair to say we've left a lot of important business to be dealt with quite late in the day - at least when we look at the starting fixtures.
If it all comes off, we'll never remember there being an issue. |

I'll continue to keep the faith, but I am a little worried about the start of the season. We've been given a horrible start, and without a little bit of midfield backup it wouldn't be great if we dropped some ground at first. |

Whilst the logic might be frustrating, surely they see how they look trying to discredit cups we won fourty years ago. You do get the sense that they're a little disappointed with the lack of presitigious silverware during their their sixteen years. |
