Lambert: "we had so many nice opportunities to score" Benner (about a minute later): "It looked likely to be a 0-0 and a deserved point" Lambert: "I think so" That short interchange sums up Lambert in a nutshell |

For me I think maybe he does, we haven't looked great this year but are somehow still up there (which says more about the league than anything) but to his credit, he has made some decent signings when given the chance and we've had really bad luck with injuries (granted we've had bad luck with injuries for many consecutive seasons now). If I felt like he had the full backing of the players I think I'd probably be a bit more convinced. I'm interested to hear other thoughts on this. Do you think he would be able to win you back around (if so what would it take?) and do you think he's capable of winning you back? |

Half the problem for me with this season is that it seems that we've stolen almost every three points we've won. We're meant to be a championship team playing in a very very poor league. If we do somehow manage to go up, we'll come back down with even fewer points than last time if we keep playing like this. Edit: that's a genuine question, I'm old and slightly senile so I really can't remember [Post edited 5 Dec 2020 17:41]

That he had no problem with walking if it was best for the club? Wonder why his rhetoric has changed now to if Marcus says it’s time to go I’ll go. The guy’s just looking for a payout. |

Lambert wore glasses when he was Norwich manager. Is Ipswich's downfall purely because Lambert wants to look cool on the touchline and can't see what's happening on the pitch? |

...When Paul Lambert eventually goes, Evans should sack Lambert's replacement almost immediately for damage control. The next one has to be the right one or the calls for Evans to go will surely get stronger. I find it remarkable how patient we have been with Evans over the years, a lot of people jump to his defence saying without his money we would be nothing but lets face it with him in charge we are slowly drifting towards nothingness anyway. One thing dawned on me this weekend, Evans when he first joined the club decided that he didn't want the nomenclature of "Chairman" and instead wanted to be called "Owner". In hindsight we should've seen the writing on the wall back then of how his tenure would pan out. He is in no way the Owner of Ipswich Town Football Club, we the fans are, he is merely a custodian of the club and should treat it as such. The club is not his play thing and it never will be, the lack of passion in the club comes from the lack of passion from the top. We have an "Owner" who we, the fans, didn't even know for years because he doesn't even love the club enough to attend the games. We should never have let someone who treats our club as an asset to be in charge, he never wanted to be in charge of a football team, he just wanted to make a quick buck - we were the gamble that didn't pay-off and now we're both stuck. |
