Hladky: A Good Point, Every Point Can Count at the End
at 09:50:51

Playing as a "goalsweeper" promises nervous moments in almost every game, but it does enable an extra player to push forward. It's taken a while to warm to this style but it's a key part of our success this season. Some top-drawer saves yesterday earned us the point.

Expectations are defined by the season so far, which puts a lot of pressure on everyone but matching or bettering Leeds is all we need to do - now it's about what happens with the games in hand, we'll be in control of our destiny playing after our divisional rivals. Three cup finals to go!

Town Announce New £105m Investment From Bright Path Sports Partners
at 17:34:36

From a £40m purchase to a valuation of £262.5m in 24 months is highly impressive returns and shows the value of well placed investments and good leadership. The only defence I'd give to the previous owner is that what he did wasn't that dissimilar to many other clubs in lower divisions - if he wants to return to owning a football club then he needs to start smaller and learn from both his experience and from seeing how things are done properly.

Additionally the board will grow with new stakeholders/owners as we slowly transform from a sleeping League One team to being on the brink of the Premier League. Even if we yo-yo for a few seasons at least we'll get into the parachute money scale while we continue building.

This season our first target was staying up, second to make the play offs and ultimately to win promotion. The first two have been achieved with the final one still realistically on the table. It's great progress even if we miss out this year. Continuing to grow and the Premier League will become our default.

IBC Unveils Plans For Portman Road Aquatics Centre Development
at 13:01:02

The statues are missing in the video. This is due to complications with the rendering of a concept, this is significantly short of a final design and is used to market and promote the project. As far as a 50m pool, there is a long-shelved renovation project for the Broomhill Lido, while it's a seasonal option it could be used as an Olympic-sized pool. It's a double-edged sword when criticising the council for lack of development and then complaining if council tax goes up.

Swansea City 1-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 19:46:04

A hard-worked win against a talented passing team, the difference being Town being sharper in front of goal combined with a little bit of edginess that frustrated Swansea. We did look leggy towards the end and some rotation against Rotherham may be essential.

Town Granted Planning Permission For Playford Road Gym Extension
at 13:31:19

Phil

Sure, although the logic is partially self-defeating as moving the press area forward would open up more seats with obstructed view. I wasn't thinking about accessing the lounge itself, more access to those using it without crossing the ground. Ultimately it goes back to the problem of the ground having its back to the town. I was thinking along the lines of something interim until the new stand is built.

Town Granted Planning Permission For Playford Road Gym Extension
at 09:19:13

I've always wondered why the press facilities weren't moved to the Cobbold Stand. The video would show a much more positive view of the stadium and less popular seating would be used by the press without decimating those who prefer to watch from that area. FAcilites are in place, the only complication would be access to the players' lounge for journalists, the 'maze of Portman Road' is already a dark art!

Midfielder Evans Leaves Town
at 13:58:08

Still a decent player, hope he still finds some form for the remainder of his career. Logical that he's now too far down the pecking order after such an injury at this stage of his career. Now can move closer to where he wants to play out his career, or, by tradition, Colchester should he prefer to stay local.

Town Targeting Wimbledon Striker Al-Hamadi

I feel this is one of two being targeted. One for now, one for development. Still, Al-Hamadi is a decent striker and could be a useful option should he prove his ability at our level.

Ahadme Could Return to Town
at 12:22:28

Sounds like he did well on loan but it's been scuppered by an injury. Cambridge have limited resources to afford to keep paying for a player that's injured. The sensible approach is to assess/treat the injury with the resources Town have then review if potential and progress is in line with retention, sale or release as defined by the coaches working with him.

Brighton Winger Sarmiento Set For Town Loan
at 14:05:33

Huge potential. If it goes right could be the Martijn Reuser type players that can propel us to the Premier League. To compare more with that era we need a Marcus Stewart and a Tony Mowbray as well, perhaps a Fabian Wilnis or Jamie Clapham for depth, although Leif shouldn't be out for too long. As far as cover for Morsy, I think we need to work with what we've got for games he's suspended.

Sarmiento is an impact player, will probably start from the bench at first, hopefully will progress to starting. A goal maker more than a scorer, can play on the left or in the hole. Not a replacement for Hirst, but that additional forward player we've been calling for. Hopefully with more minutes on the pitch can develop well and nab a few goals as well - at the moment his opportunities have been somewhat wasteful, but KM knows how to develop potential and has a good eye for underappreciated talent.

Luongo Announces International Retirement
at 13:49:05

We know Morsy is trying to get the timing of his next suspension to when he would be rotated if he wasn't captain. Being out the same time as Mas would leave us very vulnerable in the middle, so great he's focussing on club football now. A loss for Australia, but it's a lot of travelling and that has consequences as well.

I can see him going into coaching at some level or leadership away from football. He's always come across as that type. Injuries shorten far too many talented careers, however, he's gone much further than many. Now it takes a different type of resilience to progress.
