“I told you so” shame that he let a greedy agent get into his head. Hutchinson is a super talented player but we watched him last season and he played extremely well at times but was still on the development curve. Leaving for a team as accomplished as Forest looks good on paper and he’ll get some decent money, but he won’t play many minutes and his pedigree and development will wane. I hated the way he behaved but many of us who have experienced youngsters know that sometimes they have to learn the hard way if they won’t listen to good advice. Big shame |

Akpom I’m sure will be a quality addition and once his fitness is up to speed he’ll be a top player. He has real quality but we’ve only seen him for a few minutes.

Very pleased that Chaplin has got a good move to his home club. Chaplin has been a top player until the end but many fans could see that his game time was going to be limited once Akpom was signed. I’ve always felt McKenna didn’t fully trust Chaplin as he was used very occasionally in the PL. Another Broadhead situation where for the fans he produced the goods but wasn’t nailed on to start.

Good to see the fans supporting our new signing. If anyone is to highlight poor touch then Hirst has to be singled out. He wasn’t at the races. I said he will struggle to score 10 goals before the season started and I stand by that. Two good chances missed, a sitter against Saints.
Szmodics should babe played in his proper position so that he can score goals. He’s our best finisher by a mile and looks very frustrated. Mom for two games on the bounce so maybe he’s looking for a move |

PhilR exactly right. I’ve spoken to friends who are Foxes STH and they’re gutted he’s leaving and rate him very highly indeed. They reckon he’s a steal at that price. He has been bought to start games for sure as at 23 he is a future star. Look forward to seeing him play.

Welcome aboard. I was a little sceptical about this signing but having spoken to friends who are season ticket holder’s at Leicester they reckon he’s one of the best players at the club. Whilst I’m aware that Ipswich usually go about their business quietly this window appears to be more for shipping out than getting in. We done well with Akpom but are struggling to get players into the club. We definitely need a striker unless McKenna sees Akpom playing that role, and another two midfIelders of high quality. We did well to get a point against Saints but we look lightweight and short on a team with ambition for a top six.I know many fans hold Ashton in high esteem and he is a pleasant chap if you meet him in public, however I’m not convinced with the manner our transfer business is being done. I would’ve taken a point before kickoff but having watched the game we did more than enough to win the match. Hirst missed a guilt edged chance first half when he shot straight at the keeper, when two players had a tap in.
Saints midfield is very good and bossed the first half. Matusiwa will get up to speed eventually but this league is quicker than French league. He looks very good at times , then gets caught in possession. Taylor wasn’t great but McKenna is giving him a chance when Humphrey’s would be a better fit. Szmodics was excellent and looked our only real goal threat going forwards. Pleased with that performance as we will get better once reinforcements are introduced. Saints will probably lose players like Fernandez who is a PL player with quality.

We have made just £4m on the sale of Omari which is in reality a pittance. He has been badly advised by an agent who is interested in lining his own pockets and not the development of a young player. Omari is unlikely to be a regular starter at Forest and therefore he will enjoy watching PL football from the bench. Last season he had some excellent games but it was clear that he was still some way off being a PL player . I personally loved watching him play but his petulant and delusional behaviour has soured my opinion of him. Conversely he is a kid and his agent is probably making all the decisions. We need a top player through the door now to replace our marquee signing. Akpom will be an excellent addition but we’re still extremely light to be considered a top two side. |

Butcher is spot on. Omari is a fantastic Championship player but he struggled along with the others to make the step up. He had some excellent games and is still one of if not our best player. Osman highlights an interesting point regarding his agent making his decisions for him. Sadly he’ll be another young lad who fails to reach his potential because he has been poorly advised by a greedy agent. Yes he’ll have the fast cars and lifestyle for a couple of years then reality will take over . He will realise that he has to work to achieve goals and he will be exposed for what he is. AMN another classic example from Arsenal who had it all and it ended very abruptly.

Sad to see one of our most gifted players leave the club but with a year left on his contract and his Welsh connection it makes sense.

Every player needs a pre season regardless of how fit they are. Match fitness is totally different and without pre season McKenna runs the risk of one or both players getting injured. Cajuste will probably be 2-3 weeks away but Akpom could potentially make the bench soon as he has been training. We know Cajuste carries a knee issue so we must be patient. |

Arsenal have an excellent record for producing and developing young academy players. They obviously noticed this negative character trait in Omari that he thinks he’s better than what he actually is.
I’d love him to stay as he’s still on3 of our best players but with this type of behaviour it is clear that he thinks he’s bigger and better than the club. Unfortunately not as this club has had some unbelievable players over the years.
I maybe doing him a disservice as this could be agent lead or club owners wanting to protect an asset. |
