Johnson will be a reasonable player in the Championship but if there is any truth in this I think he would leave. We will find ourselves in the same boat as Luton where clubs come picking up our best players. Delap Hutch Broady Axel will almost certainly be sought after but will the club be robust and refuse to sell. Replacement players aren’t easy to find if we want top quality. The Championship will again be very strong next season |

We started the game pretty well and caused them a couple of problems going forward. The initial yellow card for simulation in relation to Johnson was farcical but after that he should never have committed the second offence.
Unfortunately 2025 has seen Ipswich retreat into a low block and basically try and restrict the opportunities for the opposition however offensively we are not creating many goal scoring chances and the outcome is obvious. Chelsea away was a great result but other than that we have been disappointing the second half of the season. Remember taking the game to Liverpool at home Man City away, losing both but trying to win. |

Well done Ipswich. Unfortunately Man City and Chelski appear to be able to spend whatever they like to bulk buy talent without any comeback. The PL is indeed riddled with corruption and money unfortunately talks. Whilst the experience of seeing my team back in the top flight again it was abundantly clear from the first game against Liverpool that big teams get all decisions and the likes of Ipswich aren’t wanted at this level.

Burgess is a solid defender who is dependable but this would be a decent move for him . Greaves has been bought to be our left sided centre back so his game time will be limited which is probably not what he wants at this stage in his career. Greaves started well but after his injury he’s struggled to find his rhythm. Good luck whatever decision you make |

We started very strongly then faded but scored a decent goal to put us in a good position. The second half was the same as the majority of our second half performances this season in that we didn’t compete. Wolves toyed with us and demonstrated the huge difference in class between the two teams. Defensively we were very average Burgess and Palmer too often playing the ball back and forth to each other then Palmer kicking long to concede possession. We either play out or go long it was embarrassing to watch. Midfield Cajuste again was decent but poor Sam hadn’t got the legs and was not quick enough. He was fine in possession.
Hutchinson is a big miss as he keeps the ball high up the field. I’m not sure this team would win the Championship. Lack of pace and lack of fighting spirit. |

There are some balanced options on here regarding Muric but too many just want to hang him out to dry. I think those with a reasonable understanding of the game will agree that Muric has made some costly errors which ultimately have lead to the team losing but conversely he has made some top saves and won us the game eg at Spurs. A fair assessment imo would be that it clearly isn’t a goalkeeping issue but a defensive issue where the team as a collective aren’t applying the basics. As one post has pointed out Palmer conceded four against Forest but was this defeat down to him ? I think we know the answer. Collectively the team has to be better. |

I’m sure England will win a major trophy under Tuchel as he’s a proven winner. I’m not sure about his first squad with James Henderson and Rashford included. None of them have excelled this season albeit the latter has improved at Villa. Delap will get his chance but he’s still developing. I’m sure he’ll probably move on in the Summer but it’s so important that he goes to the right club or his development could nose dive quickly. |

Unfortunately when a coach is trying to get the maximum out of a player the injury potential will remain high particularly if the plays aren’t of a very high quality in terms of fitness. We have many players trying to step up from a considerably lower level of the Championship and sometimes that increase in pace and physicality is too much. It’s a real shame but we all love to see high press attacking football. |

I’m sorry but Villa started their best eleven last night and won the game. The FA Cup is a big competition and we are now in the latter stages. Surely we have to play our best eleven players. Having watched them at Coventry we were clinical with our finishing but had their offside goal have counted just after half time we would’ve struggled. Play that team and we lose imo. |

4-1was a flattering result for Spurs but we are in the PL. We failed to score when creating two excellent chances inside the first 10 minutes then Son realised that he had Godfrey for pace and so Spurs exploited our obvious weakness down the right side and it was game over. Phillips was a big positive but this has to go down as another missed opportunity against a struggling Spurs side. Our home form is appalling tbh. Must win at Man U imo but Wolves have Cunha who will keep them up with room to spare. We look deflated now . I just hope we can keep some of our better players for next season. Sadly Philogene and Clarke still look miles off the pace albeit Clarke got himself a decent assist.

Spurs and Man Utd are two huge clubs but neither are performing atm which draws them into our mini league of teams we need to beat. Having watched the away game we worked so hard to win I feel it will take another performance with high work rate and intensity to beat Spurs. Hopefully the crowd will be a little more relaxed after the excellent result at Villa, as for me PR feels very tense. The players look more comfortable away from home. Let’s give it our best shot. Leicester have capitulated so we need to better Wolves. |

We have our Ipswich back. This performance was a fighting performance which imo has been missing for several weeks excluding cup games. Palmer was fantastic and was obviously our mom but there were so many top performers yesterday. Defensively we looked very well organised and Wolfie was superb when introduced. For me we need Phillips and Cajuste in midfield. Phillips won the ball back so many times and defensively he read the game brilliantly. Hutchinson pressed like his life depended on it winning back possession on numerous occasions. He also got an excellent assist win a pinpoint cross which was converted brilliant by the impressive Delap. I personally thought our fight had gone but today we showed we’re not lying down. Bring on the Spuds |

This town side still hasn’t recovered from the poor home display against Brighton and imo our performances have been well below the required standard since albeit we have played some top teams. Even at Coventry when several players were rested we started the second half so poorly and against a PL team we would’ve been blown away. We rode our luck but it’s still a good victory.

Phillips should be starting in midfield imo. Although he’s a defensive midfielder his organisation on the field is superb and when he’s in possession he always looks to try and go forwards. He was excellent at Coventry and at Liverpool but I’m afraid he’s not going to get a start. I think this could prove to be costly at the end of the season. Midfield is weak area which needs significantly improvement. Cajuste is decent but he’ll be gone in the summer and we’ll be left with our league one midfield |

Good day out and a good win against poor opposition. Clarke looks far more comfortable at this level and took his goals well. I couldn’t help thinking that the 20 minute spell at the start of the half appears to be problematic regardless of who we play. I was thankful for their goal being disallowed as we were struggling to find our way. This win will be a confidence boost.
Hopefully Millwall at home next round. |
