 | Forum Thread | Henry Winter suggesting Spurs may look to McKenna at 09:51 20 Jan 2025
Just read that he said the following to talkSport “If I was the Ipswich hierarchy I would be slightly worried about Ange’s position”, Winter said on talkSPORT after Spurs’ latest disappointing result.” Now he says a bit more but it’s purely speculation but when Winter says something I tend to give it more credence so do we think McKenna would jump ship if Spurs came calling now or will he remain steadfast is his commitment to us? Personally he’s shown an awful lot of integrity over the summer and think he’ll see the season out at ITFC…but I’ve been known to be wrong! |
 | Forum Thread | Does anyone know when club does the memorial video? at 08:56 18 Dec 2024
My Dad died on 25th October and over the years, worn down by me, became a huge Town fan and I would love to get his name and picture into the video the club does for all those Blues lost in the past year but can’t remember when it’s done or indeed who to contact. Any help much appreciated |
 | Forum Thread | A disappointing deadline day? Yes but an excellent window overall at 01:03 31 Aug 2024
Yes today has been disappointing. It was clear KMc wanted another striker given the options currently available but it wasn’t to be. Now we can all conjecture as to why, does MA lack a bit of nous when dealing with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea on deadline day? Too much time on Broja etc etc. I personally doubt that; he’s shown he’s a very capable man throughout his tenure at the club and especially in this window but I’m sure he and the recruitment team will learn some lessons from today. Yes it’s frustrating that Nelson seemed to do an about turn and maybe more so that Everton, an undoubted rival, managed to get seemingly better terms for the proposed Broja deal than we did with a £30m option not obligation. Without being privy to negotiations and short of Ashton giving a statement we shall never know. But overall people the window has been really quite exceptional. 12 players in all of whom (bar Townsend who’s clearly an understudy) are an upgrade on what we had and many of whom are young and yet to hit their peak. We pulled off a coup in getting Kalvin Phillips, made Omari permanent, signed a goalscorer in Szmodics, added pace in Clarke and Ogbene and power in Delap not to mention bringing in 2 excellent centre backs particularly Greaves. Taken in isolation today seems poor but overall we are in a good place and I believe have a squad who can get us through to the January window in a good place something all the various pundits I’ve listened to also believe. So let’s try not to let today cloud what has been a window most of us could only dream of not so long ago and trust that KMc will get exactly what he needs from the squad he’s assembled. I never normally start a thread but felt the need to,hopefully, give some perspective. Sorry it’s long winded! |
 | Forum Thread | Senior players and KM at 20:47 22 May 2024
With all the noise surrounding KM I’ve been thinking, do the senior players like Sami, Mass, Chappers have a role to play in all this? Will they be asking KM to stay with them and would their intervention make a difference? Obviously I’m just speculating but the bond between KM and the players seems incredibly strong so I would be surprised if some haven’t been in touch with him to say stay. |
 | Forum Thread | FFP and owner cash injections at 10:49 1 Sep 2023
I’m not ashamed to admit that FFP confused me somewhat. We are all well aware that our owners have plenty of cash so can we not get around FFP with a cash injection from them? This has probably been explained before but I clearly missed it |
