Strikers (good ones anyway) are a pretty rare commodity in the modern game, but it seems like every window we really struggle to find quality additions for that position.
Is it because of the system we play, meaning they need really specific attributes? Or are we (rightfully) just very picky?
This summer - New season a week away and we haven’t landed anyone despite a big hole there.
Jan 2025- didn’t feel like somewhere we were hugely targeting
Summer 2024 - Signed Delap who was a big hit but it’s no secret we wanted to bring another in
January 2024 - Signed AAH who the jury is still out on and then Kieffer who did a job but seemed a last minute stop gap so would assume other targets didn’t come off.
Summer 2023 - signed Hirst who is obviously a massive hit. Signed Dane Scarlett too who was the complete opposite.
22/23 season - Signed Ladapo who did a job at L1 level. Also signed TJJ who was pretty hit and miss.
“The EFL have confirmed a revised structure for streaming Championship fixtures outside the UK, with the following changes:
155 league matches will be selected for international broadcast and therefore cannot be streamed live on Club platforms in those territories.
The remaining 397 fixtures will continue to be available for live streaming via official Club platforms in markets where no broadcast restrictions apply.”
If you do… I beg beg beg to please not let people sing it too fast! We do seem to do it to every chant we take on and it’s horrible to see! I have faith in you.
Ha I beat my own record for downvotes the other week (30+) for daring to suggest West Ham might bid for Omari when they accepted the Kudus offer. You’ve got away lightly…..
Maybe a solid option for our third choice CM. Obvious McKenna link too. Even as third choice he would get a very good amount of game time over a 46 game season.
Is it a good move for him? I’m not really a Brest French football to know if it’s a step up or a lille step down in quality? Either way it angers me seeing these links.
I asked chat gpt your question word for word…. I think it is pretty spot on.
“Where would they fit in the men’s pyramid?
• Top women’s national teams would probably be competitive against high-level U15/U16 academy boys, which is roughly equivalent in pace and athleticism to men’s amateur / semi-pro level.
In the English pyramid, that’s likely somewhere between Step 4–6: • Step 4 = Northern Premier / Southern League Division One (semi-pro) • Step 5–6 = Strong county leagues
They would likely struggle against professional men’s teams even at National League (5th tier) level, because the physicality and speed are much higher.”
