Must have got it wrong but I thought this site was about football not 'clever' sarcasm or wordsmiths! Bearing in mind Mick always plays things close to his chest (thank god) I'm surprised he has signed someone already mentioned on here in May!! Definitely one for the future and I'm hopeful Mick will splash out on some 1st team additions soon - and for those wordsmiths that's an oxymoron!!!
Samassi if you had ever seen him play then you would know he was a key part of one of the best ITFC teams we've ever had so definitely deserving of respect and a write up!!!!
Was seriously worried when I heard we would be without five key players. However all their replacements played well and it wasn't by any means a second string team. Bit more strength in depth than we've had for a long time. Still worry about the late substitutions as we seem to go all out of shape and retreat into defensive mode. It's becoming a bad habit. Sure Watford thinking 'well as long as we can weather the early storm we can nick a couple in the last 10 and extra time'! And please North Lower give the ball back as against Blackburn when did they score(?) - in the last minute of extra time added by the ref for that!!!
Just watched recording of game. Great goal by Luke. More annoyed by Keith Andrews comments about us. Can't wait for hornets visit now and hope Luke makes his mark in that game! Talk about sour grapes!!!
Think Mick is 'magic' but sometimes seems a bit blind. Frank N is woeful and shouldn't be on the team sheet. Whereas Tales and Woody should - both creative and add a spark. Huntie is brill and always causes problems going forward. Still not sure about Tabby although full marks for effort. As for Berra I think his football brain sometimes saves him from situations he gets himself into. Would still rather see Chambo and Tommy in the middle. Can't not have Chambo in the team as his fist pump when we win raises the crowd more than the result - mint!
Purplealien - just look at the stats Tommy and Chambo one of the best central partnerships in the division. Who thinks two left footers makes sense! Berra is too slow and imo this is one of the few mistakes MM has made. We need a proper right back and put Berra back on the bench along with Anderson and .....
Don't care how big he is he has got the heart of a lion and epitomises what the new ITFC is all about. Liked him the moment he ran onto the pitch for us and am expecting great things from him this season. Even in per-season he showed how committed he was and hoping for a few goals from him as we'll.
The squad might be small but it's solid and I still think MM has a few surprises left up his sleeve.
If he joins what squad number will he get? Confused at the Colchester game as players seem to be wearing different numbers from the published squad numbers. That and trying to identify our new signings meant missed quite a bit of the action!
If MM takes Martin in hand like he has obviously done with Tommy & Luke then I think the end product will be there. Could spend all day speculating but sure MM already knows what he wants. I just want 6 points from Sat and Tues - not asking for much!
Got to be Tommy. Like Luke but if he continues to progress see him in running next year. With all our loans shouldn't we have a 'loan player of the year' award as well? Wouldn't be tempted to vote for NRC but DJ definitely brought a smile to my face. Maybe we should also have a 'loan player of the year who didn't play' award as well. Hopefully if ME supports MM the way CE says he wants to (god I love acronyms!) then that award will become redundant.
Really looking forward to Hull and CP game. If we pick up all the points and the other results go in our favour we could be up to 12th - Get the oxygen ready!!
Players starting to believe in themselves - at last. Agree good to see Luke coming forward. It wasn't as easy as the score suggests and we showed character in weathering the early storm. Fair play to Leeds supporters they were vocal 'till the end - just a shame they've got such a miserable manager!
Makes me laugh. People want to moan what a waste of time this TotW then use it to slag off our players. I'm sure MM is more than capable of pointing out the errors of their ways. Overall you can't fault Carlos for effort over the 90 mins and Tab although tiny kept bouncing back and for his first game showed promise. Granted the back 5 a becoming quite awesome and hopefully we can expect more clean sheets. Easter will be the big test! And finally - Carlos wouldn't have got two bites at the cherry if JET had produced that one piece of magic.
Never known such a subdued atmosphere before a game but at the end I was buuuuzzzziiiing! We showed confidence and if the final ball wasn't always there you can't fault the guys for their effort. Chops did everything a striker should do apart from score and his tenacity unsettled their defence which led to our goal by super MacG - who was that bloke DJ?!? We showed some good touches as well as 'houff' ball.
Ah Colin Viljeon what memories - always capable of changing a game. If AW in same class then welcome. Can't see big G on the wing unless their defence is in wheelchairs! Like him but must stay in the centre as our enforcer and long ball specialist.
Hope he sticks with Drury on Saturday and only uses N RC as sub. Shame about Barnett as he did well when he played - mind you most people do now for MM
Great posts but surprised not more mention of Lee Martin. Popped up all over the field and never stopped running. Deserved a goal for effort and could have been MoM for me
Walberswick - agree they're not the highest calibre but it's all valuable experience. Don't know what games you've been watching but TS has been getting better and better. He's played some reslly solid football recently against good quality strikers and has been cutting out the errors.
