| News Comment | Dobra on Target But Red-Carded as U23s Draw at Colchester at 11:49:58
I actually don't understand the criticism of PL with not playing dobra. If he was ready he would have been given the chance. Look at Woolfenden for example. Hardly kicked a ball for us until lambert came in and because he was ready he was given the chance. Down to Dobra to take his opportunity himself like our other successful youngsters have. |
| News Comment | Lambert: Whole Team Grew in the Second Half at 12:07:30
The rotation policy will really benefit us in the last 3rd of the season when other teams are running out of legs and our lot will still have plenty to give. |
| News Comment | Lambert: Have a Drink on Me at 12:27:39
Front foot attacking football. This is all we want as fans! Go out and try and win the game. None of this set up to grab a point nonsense! Extremely refreshing and one of the main reasons fans are more excited! The foundations are being laid down now and it's time to deliver! |
| News Comment | Town Among Clubs Linked With Livingston Keeper at 20:28:50
@depressed it's a bit of hearsay so take it with a pinch of salt but my brother plays 5aside with a colleague of his dad and he told him it was all but sorted and he's going in as first choice. Be a real shame to lose Bart but very understandable given our situation! |
| News Comment | Skipper Chambers Linked With Chicago Fire at 19:50:03
Sadly we have never really seen the best from Luke due to being shipped out at right back when he should have been at centre half the whole time. Best captain we have had for a long long time. Shame his legs are going/gone as his passion is what we need if were ever going to come back up! |
| News Comment | Town Block Derby's Move for Pennington at 20:57:40
Be interesting to see who is now left out as 4 of the 6 loans were Lambert's signings. The other 2 being first team regulars throughout the season. |
| News Comment | Town Sign Dawkins on Short-Term Deal at 18:01:42
Have no idea why people are complaining. Deal is only until the summer. If he rips it up then great we extend his deal. If he's poor then we release him. Hardly going to be on wages that'll stop us signing someone else so what's with all the complaining? Not as if he's going to be replacing someone who's been electric for us this season because nobody has! |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-2 Middlesbrough - Match Report at 22:21:54
Let's calm down a little here. We certainly are struggling at the moment but fans need to relax and get off his back. We signed 10+ players, have changed management and are trying to change the way we play football. It'll take half a season to properly gel this team and then we can start to see where we are. We do need to start winning but it's fine margins at the moment. We're not getting battered week in week out. The results will come. We wanted a change, be patient with what we asked for. We go again Saturday. Keep the faith boys and girls! |
| News Comment | Evans Slams Academy Compensation System at 11:55:44
As for you the drivel about investment. Marcus doesn't make a profit from Ipswich and that is as simple a statement you need to know. We are a sensibly run club and the future of our club hasn't been risked by an owner willing to risk it all for promotion. We all want to go up but money doesn't guarantee that. Ask the likes of Derby that because they've been chucking money at it for years now! |
| News Comment | Evans Slams Academy Compensation System at 11:52:16
Good points raised by Marcus. It's is frustrating and we aren't the only one. Chelsea had about 30 youngsters on loan last year. The system is made to suit the big clubs. Big changes to this need to happen. |
| News Comment | Woolfenden's Swindon Loan Confirmed at 09:13:56
Are you all bonkers mad?! Luke is a fantastic prospect no doubt. Will he start over Toto and Luke Chambers? No I don't think so. Is it more beneficial for his development to be a regular in a team? Yes. Same goes for Emmanuel and Morris. I want to bring our own players through just as much as anyone but going out on loan go gain valuable minutes could be the making of these young lads so trust PH and CO's judgment on this. I'd much rather we have a loan signing as cover and have our boys go out and get games to progress than use ours as that cover. |
| News Comment | Hurst: Huws Could Play for U23s on Monday at 16:16:05
PH approach towards players coming back is really refreshing. Can tell he cares and is prioritising what is best for the players in the long term. There will be no rushing players back like we have in previous years only to result in a recurring injury. It will take time but you can see the way we are looking to run the club is shaping up nicely and in time the results will start to follow if we stick with it. Still hugely optimistic despite the wobbly start. |
| News Comment | Exeter City 1-1 Ipswich Town (4-2 on pens) - Match Report at 22:45:47
Awful game of football and anyone there will agree with that. All that being said, I can at least try and see what Hurst is trying to do. Whether that works or not is yet to be seen. Players need to gel and we need to improve quickly. Frustrated at what I've just witnessed but trying to think positively. Hurst said he'd take it seriously. His line up suggests he did. We were just very poor. Interesting thought. Had we won the penalty shootout would the majority of fans who weren't even there be panicking like they are now? It was bloody awful though I have to say |
| News Comment | Shrews Deal and Waghorn Move Set to Be Confirmed Tuesday at 18:37:18
Dog, you also need to take into consideration Bart signed a new deal on a lot better terms and then the other signings we have made. Contrary to previous years we have actually reinvested into the playing staff. I would assume PH is the drive behind that! |
| News Comment | Shrews Deal and Waghorn Move Set to Be Confirmed Tuesday at 22:38:00
We have already re invested all of the Webster fee really so I don't understand why people say we haven't. Edwards, Harrison and Donacien signed for a combined 2.2 mil ish and you have to take into consideration the wages. If they're each on 5k per week that'll cost us another 2.3 mil over the course of that time so you're looking at 4.5 mil spend on those 3 over the course of their contracts. Fair play ME and PH. Keep up the good work! |
| News Comment | Skuse: Exciting Times Ahead at 12:53:20
Have to say the squad does seem very together. The previous regime had many faults but this is something we did well under Mick. Makes the transition to Hurst a smoother one. Hurst was my number one choice from the start and I for one am very excited about the coming season now! |
