Wasn't Kane offside? (n/t)

Nevermind that, he kicked his own foot and tripped over. Terrible decision.

I've not had my ear to the ground regarding space telescopes lately
at 15:07 14 Oct 2021

I've been following this for a few years now and I get clenched buttocks thinking about something going wrong. There won't be any second chances like with Hubble, as it will be a million miles from earth so we can't do service missions. But the scientific payoff promises to be huge so fingers crossed.

I'm well over 100 miles from there so that wouldn't work, but I appreciate the offer.

The f**tards are at it again...
at 20:41 24 Sep 2021

Just made it home with my range showing "0 miles". Either no fuel wherever I stopped or the queues were so big I had to take a detour. The media has alot to answer for, honestly the front page of the S*n should incur them a massive fine, tossers.

Really worried about tomorrow now, if I go out to get fuel and I'm unsuccessful I'll be screwed. All because we learned nothing from building loo roll fortresses 18 months ago.

The case for making vaccines compulsory
at 13:05 16 May 2021

It's all very well saying vaccines should be compulsory, but how would that work? Like practically how would you do it for those who refused? Forcibly restrain them and stick needles in them? That's not going to happen.

We are approaching a point where every adult who wants a vaccine will have had one, at that point (along with shutting borders to prevent mutations from overseas) we should open up the country, because what else can we do?

All English teams withdraw from ESL
at 23:39 20 Apr 2021

So the shameless self serving tossers have bottled it...for now. Don't believe a word of the apologies, they were ballsy enough to attempt it in the first place. They will regroup and try again by dressing it up differently.

It's almost funny watching fans of the "big 6" only now kick up a fuss when it's clearly been heading this way for years. Decades of gleefully encouraging their own clubs to recklessly outspend each other has created this mess.

Is signing in really such a hardship?
at 07:20 2 Apr 2021

It's not really a hardship, but this was meant to happen last summer and it didn't. Of the handful of pubs I visited last year none even attempted to ask for details. It's a nice idea but it's for grabbing positive headlines and it won't be enforced.

Yes there was some pushback to it which was good. It just irked me that they seemed to be in the minority, it had far more upvotes than downvotes when I last saw it and I know internet points don't matter in the real world but it didn't give me a good impression of the fan base at that time.

The perception of our fans being toxic you mean? I think there's a fine line between venting frustration fairly and being irrational. I don't want to be seen as hating on our fanbase right now, we're perhaps the most united we've been during my time as a fan, the last few months has seen some great posts from those who are hurting far more than Marcus Evans. There has been alot of anger but the vast majority of it has been done with decency. But it's also brought out some of the worst elements too. I lurk alot and rarely post because I don't like getting into debate as I overthink things, but there seems to be daily occurances of posts which overstep the mark in some way. Maybe I'm just a snowflake.

I agree that LON is one of the ones taking disproportionate amounts of flak because Lambert is now hiding from the media and Evans is not saying enough.

Spot on. See also James Pullen and the twitter putdowns about his job which were lauded on here as some kind of comedy genius.

Good sensible rational post. Lots of the abuse aimed towards him is way OTT and personal. I get that people feel emotionally about ITFC's decline but using his PR quotes to take digs at him is really missing the wider point of why we have fallen so hard. How would those frothing at the mouth whenever he speaks genuinely react if he were to come out and agree we are sh1te? What is he supposed to say? He's clearly just towing the party line.
