This whole Baller League thing - bit cringe isn’t it?
at 10:48 1 May 2025

You're a Reading Fan who registered on an Ipswich forum to comment on a thread that relates to neither Ipswich or Reading and that hasn't had any response for a month

Either the Baller League has some serious money to chuck around if it's going to these lengths to shake the "cringe" label, or you seriously have a lot of time on your hands!

Yeah, bit odd that it's just those two that have made the cut.

It says he picked players who have had a big part to play this season and in the promotion seasons

Poor Axel!

Is it that wild?

More goals and assists than Tyler Dibling this season! Albeit a couple of years older

That's a relief!

Bit disappointed with the Eadt's phrasing of it. ""emerging as favourites" was used on their Insta post

Just seen Kings of Anglia reporting that Leeds are interested in Omari

Definitely think he's one of a few players to come out of this season without hurting his reputation and could see him getting a move back to the EPL. We know he's very ambitious too

Anyone but Leeds though!

Yeah, thought I'd have a quick look on the Sunderland forum as I've never been that impressed with him

Seems to be pretty mixed feelings about him. Clearly got talent but been on the beach since Jan. One comment said first half of the season he was playing like Jude Bellingham, second half was more Jude Law!

Another poster said he didn't even win their young player of the season award!

Sunderland fans seem genuinely surprised by this

Lots of comments on their forum about him being poor in the second half of the season and his surname doing some heavy lifting. A lot seemed surprised he was even in the championship team of the season!

Spooky! Yesterday's 'on this day' was the Mutiny on the Bounty

Perfect timing to get rid of that heinous excuse for a chocolate bar

Not sure I understand what you're asking?

I'd like their news to still be shown on the homepage and I'd like the tab to remain where it is. The two aren't really related?

Wow! That feels absolutely ridiculous for a PL club to not support promotion for their women's team. Even if they were conscious of the financial impact of relegation, there's still plenty of money from parachute payments to go around

Oh yeah, absolutely not saying Hladky was perfect. He gave me heartaches far more often than Palmer has!

It's a tough one isn't it. Palmer is solid enough, as is Walton, for a decent championship shot stopper, but that's surely not the extent of our ambition. I agree about chopping and changing, you only have to look at the arguement that broke out between Palmer and Burgess at Newcastle to see that the relationship isn't there yet, and that Palmer probably doesn't feel comfortable with our style of play.

Could Muric come back in, who knows. But he really couldn't have carried on as our #1 in the prem. His head had completely gone by the end

Basically l wouldn't be surprised to see us go out for another keeper, but it wouldn't be my priority. My ideal scenario would be Muric returning with confidence. I don't know enough about Slicker to know if he's capable of doing everything we need our #1 to do but he's been here long enough and is clearly highly thought of, so could it be his time to shine?

Not bashing him. He's definitely been more stable than Muric and a step up from Walton in terms of shot stopping

He's got some very clear weaknesses though and is also capable of a howler or two (the back pass against wolves, almost giving the ball away when playing out from the back, the flap for the disallowed goal against Newcastle)

The biggest concern for me is that one of the things that made us so successful in the championship was taking risks at the back and inviting pressure. Palmer is definitely not capable of that. Certainly not to the level that we had with Hladky

Would Palmer be the right keeper for us in the championship? Our promotion was built on playing out from the back, which is certainly not Palmer's strength (nor are crosses, but that's another issue!)

I think we've built a bit of an issue for ourselves in the GK department with 3 keepers that aren't really quite what we're want.

Very much in the camp of flicking it into the undergrowth where possible and sensible (i.e not likely that kids will go exploring!)

The amount of plastic waste created to dispose of a naturally decomposable substance is a bit bonkers really

Unfortunately it means running up and down before handing over the baton to someone else. Then a few others do the same, before it's my turn again. Will be about 3 or 4 laps in total for me in 24hrs, depending on how quickly we get though them

Nice, well done!

I've got a relay coming up soon involving running multiple laps of Snowdon. Possibly not the most sensible race I've ever entered but hey ho

Agreed. I think even Saints fans are getting a bit despondent about him over the last few months. 2 goals and 1 assist is a pretty poor return from a forward player

Seemingly he just had a good spell but that definitely hasn't carried on throughout the season. Sounds like he had his head turned in Jan and has been pretty poor ever since

Isn't this the same for a lot of clubs now though

Birmingham and Wrexham would both be considered very ambitious and well funded.

Not sure on the ambitions of them up the road either but the owners certainly have deeper pockets than previously
