Eight Youngsters Offered Terms
at 17:15:40

As Bluefox mentioned there is no mention about CHARLIE WOOD (signed in April from Needham Market, but his contract starts July 1st. Maybe the same is the case for CORBIN MTHUNZI (signed April from Brighton) and WALKER SHABAZZ-EDWARDS (signed March from Brightlingsea)?

Ipswich Town 1-2 Southampton - Match Report
at 22:18:08

Everybody seems to blame Muric for this game, I can agree that it would be possible to save the goals, but the reason why Southampton get the chance to score is really poor defending and errors from defence/midfield. The first goal we have 3 guys pressuring the ball on the wing, we are 8 (9 w Muric) men against their 6 and Morsy leaves Aribo all alone - when he gets the reflected ball he is all alone on the penalty spot - NOT Muric's fault even though it would be possible to stop the shot as it was a bad hit from Aribo.
Second goal Sulemana easily goes around Morsy (again) to fire a shot on goal, we are 3 guys around Onuachu in the box and (of course) Muric could have done a better job at clearing the ball to a corner instead of right in front of him, but we are letting players go around us too easy - here we are 7 (8 with Muric) against their 6 - and still they are all alone. We are jogging away from their players, ball watching and not doing enough to stop them. Muric has a few errors this season, but has also had some incredible saves. Tell me one player who never makes mistakes? Cajuste has been our best player for quite some time, including today, but his shot that reached for the sky could/should have been a goal - so maybe he cost us the point? :) We are all disappointed, but it was always going to be tough in PL - support our team instead of going after individuals!!

I believe his contract is until june 2026, possibly with an option for another year.
Good move, hopefully it will give him playing time and valuable experience.

Released Ward Joins Woking
at 18:28:56

@trevski_s - yeah Town are not very good at giving updates on this. I have also got most of the ones you mentioned (not O Neill) as i believe there has been stories posted on TWTD on their new clubs - but . Also Nick Nkansa-Dwamena and Alex Graham left for the US.
Been trying to see who's been playing pre season games, but hardly any lineups available.
Some players I haven't seen in any lineups posted are: Agbaje, Lavin, Moodie, Boatswain, Uzor-Greey - but could still have played games or been injured. Also been a while since Buabo was mentioned - think he played the Bantham game.

Is there a list of which U18 and U21 players have been released?
Or who is still here?

Ashton: Recruitment Work Already Under Way
at 22:35:11

Totally agree we need some improvements for PL, even though the current team have performed really well in the Championship. When meeting the best teams (Leeds and Leicester) this year we really struggled against their quality players, and I think we have given away the ball in dangerous situations far too often for comfort.

As a norwegian I have a few fellow countrymen on my wishlist that I think could improve the team (even as the norwegian national team haven't qualified for any World or Euro tournament in a long time). The most obvious players like Haaland and Ødegaard are obviously not within our budgets, but there are a few other players I think could be within our reach and that I think could be good for us - some up and coming and some proven. Would be cool if we happened to get one or two from my list. :)

Sander Berge (midfield) was player of the year for Burnley who is going down.
Jørgen Strand Larsen is a strong and tall forward scoring goals for Celta Vigo in Spain.
If we can't get Omari back there are options with two similar youngsters in Oscar Bobb (Man City) and Antonio Nusa (Club Brugge) who both have improved immensely the last year.
Defence I have a personal fav in Kristoffer Ajer with Brentford, but he's been injured a lot and also playing a lot of right back which is not his strongest.
Another young defender who i like is Leo Hjelde (Sunderland) who can play left back as well as central.
Throwing a few young midfielders into the mix as well, both played with my son growing up, they both have U21 caps and currently in Holland, Johan Hove (Groningen) and Sivert Mannsverk (Ajax).

Any others with a wishlist? :)

Luongo, Aluko and Chirewa Offered Terms But Keogh, Penney, Coleman and Vincent-Young Released
at 15:49:57

No surprises in the retained list, but as mentioned above by others small surprise in contract being offered to Aluko. Even though he played a big part in the dressing room, that's an expensive voice if he's not playing games. Guessing there will be some new additions to the team before new season and that we might see more people out the door as well. Wouldn't mind signing Hirst and JJ again - or even bring back Celina.

As for the U18/U21 I still count about 40 names, not to mention U16 players who's been playing last season - so maybe some more will be heading out the door during summer. Don't think too many will be upgraded to first team, Baggott might be a candidate, but most likely headed for a new loan.

Town Sign Young New Zealand Keeper Gray
at 15:18:54

Great to see Town signing new young players as well. Thank you to TWDT for keeping us updated, as Towns own webpage is lacking info which is not about first team.
The list of players on the U21/18 ( https://www.itfc.co.uk/teams/U21-and-U18-teams/) havent even been updated with players brought in in January (Lavin, Curtis, Foyo, Carr, Ayinde as far as I can tell) and if they bring a match report they only list goal scorers and no lineups. :)

McKenna: Delighted For Conor, He Deserves Everything He Gets
at 18:56:03

I'm delighted for Conor as well, and for my own prediction coming true when I commented on the forum July last year when everyone was screaming for a 20+ striker that Conor was already in the building and I believed him to be our 20+ guy. But mostly I'm delighted for the team - as long as we win it doesn't matter who scores. Hopefully we can keep on winning and make the direct promotion.

Bonne: Unfinished Business at Town
at 21:14:13

Why is no one mentioning Chaplin when it comes to scoring 20+ a season?
He's a notorious goal scorer, even when coming off the bench and playing every other game from start (as people would call not being given a decent run of games). He's already in the building, why not play him on top? Any thoughts? (yes, I know he is not big and strong - but who cares as long as he keeps scoring goals)

Ipswich Town 0-1 Morecambe - Half-Time
at 16:35:11

Was worried about the bench same as you miltonsnephew, surprised that Ndaba wasnt there as he's been pre-season. We need another solid CB, but with Edmundson fit and Ndaba close I think there should be enough youngsters at the club already with Baggott and Kabongolo (both born 2003) in the academy.

Cook: We Could Have Up to Three New Players By Monday
at 14:49:29

Everyone is talking about keeping Kenlock as backup until we have another LB in the building. I admit I haven't seen him play, but what about Bailey Clements? He's been w the first team before and impressing back then, he's same age as Rekeem Harper - if you're good enough you're old enough. Anybody seen him play the last year?

Cook: A Tough Day For Us, We're a Work in Progress
at 22:12:54

A loss against a decent Championship team is nothing to cry about, preseason or midseason. All the talk about a new team is also of course a valid point to make, but it might not be as bad as everyone thinks. In our League a majority of teams (16 of 24) have lost 10 or more players since last season, and it's not only us who have brought in over 10 new players. 3 other teams have done so as well and 11 more teams have brought in 7-9 new players. Our two first league game opponents Morecambe and Burton have brought in 15 and 12 new players so far. So it looks like the first rounds will be a lot of players that dont know each other all around the board - lets just hope ours have more quality and that PC and his staff can make a decent team out of them. Of course no other team got rid of as many as we have - and we might still get a few new faces in - all I can say so far is it looks like the new owners, Mark Ashton and PC is doing a hell of a job trying to get this club back where it belongs. Keep supporting our team and have a little faith.
