at 14:20:55

Small correction needed, Wolfie played the morning game according to the reports....

from first team squad only Edmundson, Camara (loan move?) and Pigott (move?) not involved - and the 2 young goalies (Hayes and Slicker).

Luongo, Aluko and Chirewa Offered Terms But Keogh, Penney, Coleman and Vincent-Young Released
at 15:49:57

No surprises in the retained list, but as mentioned above by others small surprise in contract being offered to Aluko. Even though he played a big part in the dressing room, that's an expensive voice if he's not playing games. Guessing there will be some new additions to the team before new season and that we might see more people out the door as well. Wouldn't mind signing Hirst and JJ again - or even bring back Celina.

As for the U18/U21 I still count about 40 names, not to mention U16 players who's been playing last season - so maybe some more will be heading out the door during summer. Don't think too many will be upgraded to first team, Baggott might be a candidate, but most likely headed for a new loan.

Town Sign Young New Zealand Keeper Gray
at 15:18:54

Great to see Town signing new young players as well. Thank you to TWDT for keeping us updated, as Towns own webpage is lacking info which is not about first team.
The list of players on the U21/18 ( https://www.itfc.co.uk/teams/U21-and-U18-teams/) havent even been updated with players brought in in January (Lavin, Curtis, Foyo, Carr, Ayinde as far as I can tell) and if they bring a match report they only list goal scorers and no lineups. :)

McKenna: Delighted For Conor, He Deserves Everything He Gets
at 18:56:03

I'm delighted for Conor as well, and for my own prediction coming true when I commented on the forum July last year when everyone was screaming for a 20+ striker that Conor was already in the building and I believed him to be our 20+ guy. But mostly I'm delighted for the team - as long as we win it doesn't matter who scores. Hopefully we can keep on winning and make the direct promotion.

Bonne: Unfinished Business at Town
at 21:14:13

Why is no one mentioning Chaplin when it comes to scoring 20+ a season?
He's a notorious goal scorer, even when coming off the bench and playing every other game from start (as people would call not being given a decent run of games). He's already in the building, why not play him on top? Any thoughts? (yes, I know he is not big and strong - but who cares as long as he keeps scoring goals)

Ipswich Town 0-1 Morecambe - Half-Time
at 16:35:11

Was worried about the bench same as you miltonsnephew, surprised that Ndaba wasnt there as he's been pre-season. We need another solid CB, but with Edmundson fit and Ndaba close I think there should be enough youngsters at the club already with Baggott and Kabongolo (both born 2003) in the academy.

Cook: We Could Have Up to Three New Players By Monday
at 14:49:29

Everyone is talking about keeping Kenlock as backup until we have another LB in the building. I admit I haven't seen him play, but what about Bailey Clements? He's been w the first team before and impressing back then, he's same age as Rekeem Harper - if you're good enough you're old enough. Anybody seen him play the last year?

Cook: A Tough Day For Us, We're a Work in Progress
at 22:12:54

A loss against a decent Championship team is nothing to cry about, preseason or midseason. All the talk about a new team is also of course a valid point to make, but it might not be as bad as everyone thinks. In our League a majority of teams (16 of 24) have lost 10 or more players since last season, and it's not only us who have brought in over 10 new players. 3 other teams have done so as well and 11 more teams have brought in 7-9 new players. Our two first league game opponents Morecambe and Burton have brought in 15 and 12 new players so far. So it looks like the first rounds will be a lot of players that dont know each other all around the board - lets just hope ours have more quality and that PC and his staff can make a decent team out of them. Of course no other team got rid of as many as we have - and we might still get a few new faces in - all I can say so far is it looks like the new owners, Mark Ashton and PC is doing a hell of a job trying to get this club back where it belongs. Keep supporting our team and have a little faith.
