I sort of agree about the results however probably a little bit more important then normal getting wins back in the tank manually after last year. But main thing for me is the performances which have been excellent for a pre-season. There was very little going through the motions.
Hackney for me is the only one that stings for me and if Omari or/and Broady goes.
If we get a striker and 2 CMs if good quality (Jens is a tick) then it's a good window all said and done.
Unlike say Burnley those that have left, other than Delap wouldn't have been a starter. Omari will be the only other that would be. That's pretty successful for a relegated side. Morsy of course is a loss but that is as much about mother time for him (can't all be Ashley Young :) ).
If the deal was good and we could get him relatively cheap £3-5 mil then I would be very happy to have him onboard if Omari is off. There is a value to him knowing exactly how we operate and the role he would need to do. He was just absolutely ideal in how he plays coming on because he was a bit blood and thunder in his approach.
A bit erratic but he's a really decent technical player and he'd absolutely love coming back.
A good replacement if we Omari/Hutchinson go. An no I don't want either to go. Obviously there are some other good options as well but Sarmiento has a bit of X factor about him and street fighter spirit. Yep, but of heart in this thinking but that's ok!
I think what people miss with Szmodics is he's relentless. Doesn't stop running and very good in a press and putting pressure on without the ball. He's more physical then Chaplin. Both good but I think Szmodics does a lot of the unsung work as well. Chaplin is a great option starting some games and coming on as a finisher. They can share the load. Honestly I'd still love to see Broadhead tried in that role at times as well.
Means absolutely nothing of course (not really true but obviously no points for pre-season) but can anyone remember a better pre-season then this.
We've played well, looked fit and Sharp and tried some really interesting things out. Strikers are scoring and we look ready. I remember it being decent pre-season when we won that little cup in Austria but results wise this one probably beats it.
2-3 more in before Friday and we are really in a good place.
No it didn't. It looked like a light sprain. Could be available Friday or 1-2 weeks I imagine. Obviously no guarantee but to say it looked significant from what we've seen is crazy hyperbole.
Townsends looked worst but mainly because was off the ball and looked in real pain. Philogene initially thought he could carry on.
Hopefully both nothing too bad and Jaden was hopefully more taking no risk.
A good league one striker with potential to play champ but not sure he goes beyond that honestly. If we signed him I'd hope he can kick on but wouldn't be one near top of my list.
I know nobody has a bad YouTube show reel but I really like the style of this player in that he looks like someone will chase anything down and loves a battle. Some lo Ely finishes and touches. Could be a really good compliment to Hirst.
