Has Hurst confirmed where he's expected to play? If centre midfield, I'd much rather see Downes/Dozzell/Nydam play ahead of him. If Left Back or out wide, good to add some depth. |

IMO Skuse should start. Downes, Dozzell and Nydam played well on Saturday but are 18,19 and 19 (I think), and Dozzell/Nydam were blowing by 60 mins. I think we need Skuse in there as an old head at the moment.
I was really impressed how the three rotated positions on Saturday at times, not sure Skuse is able to do that, but then we may be surprised and he has been shoehorned into a role previously and has more to his game. |

Torn on this, £7m is great money, but I just don't know whether we have the time and ability to get someone in to cover the goals/assists he provides. Midfield we still look woefully short on goals.
Can't blame him for being interested in a move to any of the suitors mentioned, I would expect he could possibly earn 2 or 3x what he's paid here. |

Good news. IMO Skuse is a good player who does his job well, I think the problem is who he's paired alongside in the middle. If any of Bishop/Adeyemi/Huws had played more this season I think our midfield would've had a much better balance to it.
2 goals in 194 games is still a shocking return for a CM though. |

I still don't quite understand the willingness to sell so early in the transfer window. Wouldn't it have been better for him to stay at Rotherham for part of the month, maybe score a couple more, while we negotiated and as teams get more desperate for a front man later in the window then the price goes up.
It just feels like we can't wait to get rid of him, even if we leave some cash on the table. |

Is he realistically going to fancy going to Birmingham or Cardiff?
His family is based in the Midlands, so Cardiff is a bit of a trek, and would he really want to go to Birmingham at this point in time with them quite possibly playing in League 1 next year? I would be surprised if he went to either, but may be his agent drumming up some interest. |

Why wouldn't he just extend his loan to the end of the season? Seems to be getting a game in an Aldershot team that are doing very well and is unlikely to be called back before the end of the season, wouldn't it be better for all parties to know he'll be there for the rest of the year.
I do think it is good that we seem to have a link with them to give our young players games, seems to be very beneficial all round. |

I think we'll bring him back, which is a shame with the current team we're playing and realistically he would spend the second half of the season coming off the bench for 15mins when we're 1-0 down and need someone to cane balls at.
If we had any semblance of width I think he'd do a good job, but on how the side is set up I'd rather he stayed there and had a full season. |

Not a brilliant performance by any stretch of the imagination, but over the first 6 games of the season I think it sums up where we are, a mid table side. I would certainly have taken 12 points out of 18 at the beginning of the season.
I would much prefer to see us play 4 in midfield with Rowe/Celina down the wings, as playing three of Garner/Waghorn/McGoldrick from the start leaves us with little in the way of goalscoring off the bench |
