9 wins 3 draws, not bad for a team that were near the bottom prior to that run. |

Agree 100%. The Philogene, Hutchinson, Clark, work in progress should be changed as well. Would prefer 3 out of 4 from Enciso, Chaplin, Smodicz, or Broadhead. |
 | Forum Thread | Best team tonight? Does McKenna know his best team? at 14:02 3 Mar 2025
I’d prefer Woolfie, Burgess, Townsend, Szmodics, Broadhead, (Chaplin or Enciso if fit?), and Hirst anyway. Delap is a phenomenal talent, and will be England’s next centre forward, but for now Hirst may get more out of his team mates. Delap is too much of a one man band at times, and verging on selfish. Although, it’s probably just a desire to do well. Hirst could link play better, and although our defending has largely been poor, not utilising Hirst enough when fit is a negative. I hope he plays tonight at least. Ideally, I’d have liked both in the same team but appreciate that our lack of target man recruitment has cost us. Pity we’ve got four goalkeepers and only two centre forwards. Please no Muric. |
 | Forum Thread | The three behind Delap look like the Premiership future but at 14:05 22 Feb 2025
are they physically strong enough if Spurs bypass them today? Would have preferred Townsend to start with Davis and Broadhead ahead of him. Our three young attackers will thrive if we start well if we don’t I fear for our powers of recovery. |
 | Forum Reply | Who is going to be the Left Wing Hero? at 08:46 6 Feb 2025
I doubt any political figure will be a Hero as the media etc is so against progressive politicians. However, possibly Elizabeth Warren (though I doubt it). Economists: Stephanie Felton, Mark Hudson. Over here: Gary Stevenson, and Richard J Murphy are interesting characters. Public sentiment has to shift, so that Governments are made to work for the people rather than bankers/hedge fund managers. Something that hasn’t happened (arguably) since the 1950’s/60s. People have got used to being shat on by billionaires, tech companies, politicians, and the media, so it’s little wonder that we accept our lot, and accept that we are not getting a lot in return. |

Panic buying. |
 | Forum Reply | Apart from Delap and Cajuste, I doubt we’d have many less points at 17:11 1 Feb 2025
with last season’s squad. Plus, they’ve spent a lot of cash, and we seem to have a lot of right sided defenders and attackers who don’t contribute much behind Delap. A reliable goalkeeper, and two holding midfielders would have been good instead. |

It’s nothing to do with playing in the hardest league. Poor signings. Only Cajuste and Delap have improved us. We were outplayed on occasions in the Championship (e.g. Southampton and Leicester at home), but spirit dragged us through. Yes, we were right to try and sign better players during the summer, but they should have gradually been introduced to the existing team. The recruitment team also haven’t done well so far in this window. Enciso looks good, but Philogene looks a bit of a sporadic talent. Goalkeeper was a must but… |
