Just my opinion, but he’s not good enough.

As you say, a hard position to fill given Hirst is likely to be first choice. Sadly, I don’t think we can rely on Hirst staying fit all season.

Broadhead bid

Arguably our best attacker behind the striker, knows the league, knows our system. We aren’t going to replace him for £7m either given the current market, keep him here and tie him down to a new contract. Big game player.

According to the following :- https://t.co/wE9uVpdGyu

He was never coming here in a million years, we aim far too high. I make that Guiu, Ferguson, Hackney, Cajuste all on our ‘list’.

I wonder whether Rak-Sakyi will be of interest, I remember McKenna wanting him when we were in League 1.

‘Need’ - probably not, but we’ve got the money. We’re probably the most attractive proposition for players in the Championship this coming season, I don’t see why we wouldn’t.

Spot on, and don’t forget some of our fans looking for things that aren’t there now. Saw people giving him stick over a still image on Twitter of him looking slightly glum, got dogs abuse because he deleted some stuff off Instagram. Weirdos.

Huge position of strength on Omari ...
at 11:15 16 Jul 2025

Of course nobody really knows for sure, but release clauses usually have to be paid in full. Arsenal recently paid more than the release clause for Zubimendi so they could structure the payments. :- https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14880305/Arsenal-61m-Martin-Z

My guess is something similar happens with Omari. Brentford will pay over £35M, but it’ll be paid across 4 years.

Assume your last paragraph isn’t aimed at me, as I haven’t suggested that in the slightest.

I imagine we’ll accept a bid slightly higher than the £35M, but it’ll be paid across instalments. (I think the relegation clause had to be paid in full).

Al - Hamadi And (HOPEFULLY) Pending New Striker
at 14:44 15 Jul 2025

Sadly I don’t think we can rely on Hirst to stay fit all season, so we need another striker at his level, competing with him to start. I’d be at the front of the queue for Will Osula at Newcastle, especially if they end up with Ekitike.

Someone like Osula and then a really young striker on loan from a prem club.

Devastating blow, so gutted to lose Sam (n/t)
at 11:01 15 Jul 2025

Absolutely spot on. I think people over-egg his ‘decline’, when he was available, he played every single game for us, keeping Kalvin Phillips or Cajuste out of the side. He would have been more than capable to play for us in the Championship.

Never injured for a long period of time, there’s a reason why McKenna very rarely dropped him. The fact McKenna clearly wanted to keep him speaks volumes too.

A very risky move from the club, feels very much like a changing of the guard with the amount of senior players leaving. I guess it has to happen if we want to emulate and become a club like Brighton, Brentford or Bournemouth.

Luke Chambers is not a club legend and was part of our worst team(s) in history. Also played a big part in our downfall.
