 | Forum Reply | Players You’re Excited to See Next Season? at 16:06 22 Apr 2025
I'm interested what happens with Taylor next season. I believe he's out of contract in 2026 so could be make or break in terms of his Ipswich career. I think he was signed to be a box-to-box midfielder and I feel like that might be something McKenna would like having signed Camara the season before (which obviously didn't work out). Taylor couldn't force his way past Luongo in the Champ promotion season and then we've needed to be a bit more conservative in the Prem but maybe we could see a slight change in style in midfield next year. |

It just becomes harder and harder each season. I imagine that if say Burnley or Sheff Utd had stayed up last season they'd be a team that we'd hope to compete against this year but for every season that the same 3 that go up and get relegated the other teams in the Prem become more established and more difficult to compete with. Next season there'll be 17 teams that have had at least 3 seasons in the Premier League. Relies on an established side imploding, which at different times this season it looked like Everton, West Ham, Wolves or perhaps Palace might get sucked in but never materialised. |

Hard not to get your heart set on a place by the time you get to the point of making an offer, you'll have imagined yourself living there. Once you do get somewhere though you'll find yourself remembering all the flaws of this one and I'm sure you'll get there even if it feels like it's taking forever at the moment. |
 | Forum Reply | Jens Cajuste - wishful thinking, or a realistic possibility? at 14:15 19 Mar 2025
I think it's part of our plan to change the front 4 most games, if you're having to use a sub on a CM every game then that could limit your options if there are any other injuries. How many times were Morsy/Luongo subbed last season? Part of the situation we're in means we've had to sign players with limitations, either lack of experience or questionable fitness record. I think to progress going forward we need to sign players who are more robust. |

Interesting decisions to be made on players due to be out of contract in 2026. Either new contract, sell for a fee or risk them leaving on a free transfer. Some might have options but I think there's the following: Walton Townsend Morsy Taylor Burns Chaplin Broadhead |

It's the hope that kills you. For me I think the Utd game felt like the last chance. But... if Cunha's suspension is increased to 4 games he'd miss the game against us right? Doesn't mean that we definitely win it but that game is absolutely vital for us to have any chance. |

No luck for me in the ballot although I was able to buy a ticket for Coventry and made it to Fulham in the home end. I'm ok with it this season, gives something to the fans who travelled consistently in the Championship. I hope they increase the ballot % next year though otherwise it becomes a closed shop |
 | Forum Reply | if we get relegated....how will the team line up by end of August? at 14:35 6 Feb 2025
Feels weird saying this as he's not played for us yet but I think Palmer could be a candidate to be sold in the summer. One of the senior keepers would surely go and purely from an FFP point of view this makes the most sense to me. If he has a good half a season and shows he can be a Premier League keeper, someone will pay more than £2m for him. Muric has already been part of a Championship promotion team and if the fanbase gives him a chance, I think could still be a good bet in the long run. Another one that I think could be sold is Johnson. Signed for a free so any money will be profit and has Premier League experience. I could see someone signing him as a squad player. |

If you go for Hutchinson rather than Omari then it would be PHD - giving other teams a footballing education |

Interesting to see it laid out like that. While we've strengthened across the pitch, about 2/3 of our transfer spend is on attacking players. |

Has everyone decided to just forget that Burns should have been sent off against Liverpool? [Post edited 26 Aug 2024 21:12]

Unsurprisingly he's gone with a 3-1 win to Liverpool. How many wins will he predict this season for Ipswich? I'm guessing zero. |

Could be Johnson instead of Burns as a more defensive option |
