 | Forum Reply | McKenna reported to be in boardroom at West Ham yesterday at 12:27 15 Sep 2025
I would be a bit surprised if 1) he didn’t go a watch PL games from time to time, 2) he didn’t watch games versus Tottenham, 3) he wasn’t a manager of interest to West Ham, 4) he had to sit in cheap seats somewhere in the ground. He’s not going anywhere is he. Calm down. |
 | Forum Reply | Two things I’d change about football immediately… at 06:27 15 Sep 2025
I would consider the following 1) retain tech only for goal line, penalty or serious foul play incidents 2) do away with offside rule completely what benefit is it actually brings to game or fan enjoyment that would also negate the need for tech and precision offsides which isn’t even in the spirit of what we understand to be the game 3) stop the game only when ball is out, head injury or high speed impact injury, the players if need be can get up and receive treatment off pitch otherwise and a rolling sub can enter play for min 5 mins controlled by the FO 4) put the taking of a free kick in hands of team taking it not the referee, if they want a fast take they go and if the opposing team isn’t the ten yards and somehow impedes, ball moves forwards 5 yards only as far as the 18 yard line, if they want to go slow they can ask ref to pace it out but they take when they are ready within seconds not when the defenders are in place. If they don’t take quickly clock stops. 5) blue card for two bookings min mins off the pitch, could be anything from 6-10mins or over 15mins as that would really penalise 6) rolling subs but haven’t thought through under what conditions, could be the minor knock scenario above or could be for everything after 10 mins and not within last 5 mins of any half to avoid tactical shenanigans [Post edited 15 Sep 8:13]

It will depend a lot on Whether BJ or H Clarke is getting game time Whether Burns is fit and getting game time Whether Humphries Baggott are getting game time Which injuries we are covering Whether we are scoring enough Whether we are conceding to many Which players are available! I like the idea of further investments in younger players for PL2. |
 | Forum Reply | Furlong really isn’t my favourite at 23:22 13 Sep 2025
I don’t know about weights and measures but Mark Brennan would have made a good draft excluder in the modern game. I think. |

Leif Davis is our left back He came from Leeds United He only cost a million But we think is brilliant Na na na na na na na |

I got to the ground early yesterday in time to see the little ball pyramids. It’s reassuring among all the change we still have this level of consistency. Little detail. |

I liked being able to bring tens of millions off the bench. J Clarke 2 in 2 games under discussed in the hail of goals by Jaden. |

You could always use this thread to talk about Cajuste or Furlong or other players that played well. Take your pick. It is important to have a separate thread by every member of the board in order that you can go way off topic in a thread rather than stay on topic in thread. [Post edited 13 Sep 22:38]

 | Forum Reply | Morsy vs. Matuswia at 19:12 13 Sep 2025
I’m not inclined to make a direct comparison. It’s not needed. KMck is building a completely different midfield with new players and different attributes. Morsy was the king. Matisuwa is settling in very nicely indeed. |
 | Forum Reply | Full backs....how much of a difference they make. at 07:00 13 Sep 2025
Furlong another good example offering a different solution to same role. Magnificent debut in a hybrid defending role giving RW opportunities to stretch the pitch. If we get McAteer and or Egeli going they’ve got the defensive cover there. Serious defender. |
 | Forum Reply | Everything is good, just need that number 9 now.. at 06:57 13 Sep 2025
No reason for constant jabbing at Hirst. He’s a top performer in his position at this level. Sure he might not have started quite where we wanted him this season, but the season is long. If he keeps injury free, we do well with him in attack plus KMck knows what we need and he locked him down as our number 9. Time to move on from this click bait. [Post edited 14 Sep 7:25]

 | Forum Reply | Nunez is pure class!! (n/t) at 06:52 13 Sep 2025
Nunez proper ball demanding midfielder that keeps things moving and makes you tick. I don’t know that we need to pick and choose starters at this stage. You have 3 10m midfielders that will all be well worthy of sharing minutes. It’s a case of not over cooking them and picking the mix based on opposition, game state and their overall load. This is quite amazing to have these three players available to us. Enjoy the journey. |

I can’t speak highly enough about him. I thinks he’s great. |
 | Forum Reply | I always wanted to come here . . . at 14:05 12 Sep 2025
It’s probably market state. We are currently looking upwards and the big fee and wage payer. In a different era we are trying to secure players at the edge where clubs might let them go but the player might prefer to stay. |
 | Forum Reply | Feel for Delap - injury worse than Chelsea feared at 13:07 12 Sep 2025
This is the risk you retain when not selling a high value player. Injuries can happen anytime but I do wonder how often player get injuries like this after a transfer, effort changes in line with the move and your body must have an adaptive period with new training plans. Just a thought but you’d assume these things are properly monitored therefore it’s luck of the draw. |
 | Forum Reply | Would you start Hirst tonight? (n/t) at 08:26 12 Sep 2025
Yes and I wouldn’t be making him a scapegoat for our start to the season. Unless we feel somehow he’s had too many minutes in the last 10 days. Otherwise, Seconded. |
 | Forum Reply | Interesting time for Omari at 12:34 10 Sep 2025
I don’t know whether im that bothered unless it’s the attractiveness of a sell on fee. He wanted out of ITFC, he wasn’t willing to help kick start our season in the Championship when others have in the past for relegated teams. He is part of some great memories but his leaving presents an opportunity. I expect the last thing he’s concerned with is a change of manager, I very much doubt he was sold on the move by the manager at NF. The money and the PL badge was enough, he might have had one eye on MGW moving in a window or 2. [Post edited 10 Sep 21:25]
