Thread | Szmodics/Travis - the most audacious master plan so far?

Do you think it is possible that Travis was signed on loan in January to plant a Szmodics seed? Even if just a secondary motive, as Travis as a player was a good fit alone, we could have easily had Szmodics on our long term target list. I’m sure the possibility of Travis reporting back to the Blackburn camp about how impressive he found us and McKenna was at least discussed by KMc and Ashton.
It’s a common sales technique to get to a senior client by wooing one of their colleagues, and MA is as slippery a salesman as they come. |

I know there a fair few of us based in Sheffield so it felt prudent to see where everyone else is planning on watching the match. I’ve scoped out a shortlist of venues to watch the game on Saturday (keeping in mind Man City are on TV at the same time).
Anyone know of a hidden gem I may not have considered/also weighing up their options as to where is best to watch the game?

..and paved the start of the second half of the season.
That felt very much like the first game of the season. Not just because it was seeing how a couple of additions would do, but also a hard fought win against a competitive opponent.
If we land a very good striker I back us to get the job done. |

Has anybody used a meal prep delivery service before/ can they recommend any?
I don’t drive, don’t live immediately near a good grocery shop, and generally don’t have much spare time. If I could get 3-4 of my main meals of the day prepped and sent to me in a healthy fashion, I’d probably do it.

Yes, it was slightly disappointing to know that a chance to be in a 1/4 draw with Port Vale was there for the taking had we played a slightly stronger side. All in all probably the right decision to make though, he essentially just rested players we couldn’t afford to lose for a league game.
A few fringe players exposed. A couple for lack of quality, none that really caused surprise. A couple due to match practice, but I guess that’s what these games are for.
We had to lose again eventually, and rather this than Birmingham. |

Oct 2022
1 x bet with Rotherham fan - ITFC will be in the Prem before Rotherham (£20)
1 x bet with Spurs fan - ITFC will be in the Prem by 2027 (£10 bet, 5/1 odds in his favour)
Summer 2023
I tried to make a £100 bet with a fan from every club in the Championship that ITFC will finish above them (if ITFC get promoted then all winnings go to charity)
- I secured this bet with 14 other clubs
Tonight
1 x bet that ITFC will finish above Villa next season (£100)
1 x bet that ITFC will finish above Arsenal (in their respective leagues) next season (£100)
I’m on to winner, right?

Mixed feelings on tonight.
The more I see if Leicester the more I think there are only two promotion spots up for grabs this season.
Not sure if just an off day as I haven’t seen that much of them, but surprised at Norwich. Was hoping they might pick something up but apart from a ten minute period in the second half they were chasing shadows.
They also bought someone on in the 96th minute who looks like the type of bloke that takes their 15 year old kid to see Noel Gallagher in matching Pretty Green jackets |

… but this thread (which I know has been addressed before) is off the scale.
Their obsession with Mark Ashton goes beyond what can be expected of a football club, and the obligatory niche following of ‘eccentric enthusiasts of the club’.
75 pages of clutching at straws. It is nothing more than a bizarre crescendo of spite and resentment that has resulted in Bristol City fans having to pull their piers up on jokes about MND and the DarbyRimmer organisation. Thankfully none of the comments are particularly malicious, but a significant level of uncouthness for an objectively good cause is hard to overlook in my opinion.
Really hope that Blue Action pull out a gigantic Ashton display for their trip to Portman Road. No problems with them being disproportionally bitter about an old owner of theirs, but this crosses a line for me.
