 | Forum Thread | Where in IP1 or IP4 does a good fish pie? at 12:57 14 May 2025
Ideally a pub with a diverse menu. Going out for dinner with friends but I can’t eat solids at the moment and a fish pie is probably my best bet, but I don’t want to limit my dinner companions. |

If you fancy an early lunch getting a table at @25 (used to be KBar) is one you won’t regret. Top quality food and fantastic attentive table service. |
 | Forum Thread | Szmodics/Travis - the most audacious master plan so far? at 23:51 16 Aug 2024
Do you think it is possible that Travis was signed on loan in January to plant a Szmodics seed? Even if just a secondary motive, as Travis as a player was a good fit alone, we could have easily had Szmodics on our long term target list. I’m sure the possibility of Travis reporting back to the Blackburn camp about how impressive he found us and McKenna was at least discussed by KMc and Ashton. It’s a common sales technique to get to a senior client by wooing one of their colleagues, and MA is as slippery a salesman as they come. |

The boys needed some help So we’ve signed someone else I’m feeling supersonic, give me Sami Szmodics We used to have Dom Ball, but we’ve now got Kelvin Phillips Borja in attack And we’ll take Trevor back Who’s arrived with you to play in Ipswich blue? It’s a super Swede who’s here from Napoli We’ll take a loan out Cause we need to see what Jens Cajuste’s all about We’ve got one more day until we see the Ipswich play But before tomorrow Cause my friends said it’s coming home I stood in the corner on my own Coz my clubs gonna win it all Nobody can stop us Nobody can stop McKennaball Nobody can stop Mckennaball |

I agree regarding Rory Stewart, and I would not be surprised if he goes on to be PM in the next 10 years. My nickname for him is Tory Blair. |

I was on BBC but just switched based on your post and I am glad I did. I imagine watching Burnham will be as refreshing as it is agonising, knowing that he should be the person winning this election. He really is the Jon Snow of UK politics. |

Sure does. Think back to February last year when Sheff Wed missed a sitter to make it 3-0 at Portman Road, we probably would have finished mid table in League One this year. |

No. We are one of the only clubs that has a more organic forum flow, and we are without doubt the best fanzine forum in English Football. No coincidence. Plus - I would imagine multiple threads gain more traction on web ads which can only be good for Phil, Gav and, most importantly, Mark. |

I can't see any titles being rescinded, to be honest, and you won't find me among those campaigning for it. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on the whole "dump on history" viewpoint. Plenty of other clubs in the Premier League have spent just as heavily over the past decade; they just didn't have Pep Guardiola to maximise the potential of their signings. I'm unable to comment on the pitch invasion as I haven't seen it. Interesting piece of trivia, though (not that it significantly supports my points) – I was recently told that Man City are the only team to ever celebrate winning the Premier League* with a pitch invasion. *1993 - present era |

You say boring, but a new record has just been set. No team has ever won four titles in a row. It’s been 100 years since Huddersfield made history by winning three consecutive titles. The tides will change for Man City just as they did for Huddersfield 100 years ago. Personally, I think Man City's dominance over the past few years is more due to Pep's brilliance than financial advantage. The financial disparities between Manchester City and other big six clubs over the last 10 years have been overstated, in my opinion. Moreover, Manchester City is the only club from the big six that has ~40,000 fans who have experienced miserable away day losses in the third tier of English football, just like we have done. I might be a bit biased in my opinion because a few of my best mates are Man City fans, but I really don't resent them as much as the rest of the country does. One thing is for certain, though: no other club from the big six, other than Man City, will have supporters that respect and appreciate what we achieved last season. Bizarrely, a lot of the long-in-the-tooth Man City fans are probably weirdly jealous! |
