Town Programme For Visit to Port Vale Sells For Almost £3,000
at 11:25:20

Teams were still listed in 2-3-5 formation but the "third back game", involving the centre half becoming a central defensive pivot, had been brought in by Herbert Chapman & others after the offside law was changed in 1925.

Clarke: Slicker Will Bounce Back, He Has a Big Future
at 16:57:54

He won't have any future as a professional unless he can get over the nerves that clearly must have affected him last week. He won't play today & not again until August & it will take a slightly brave club to give him a game after last week's horror show. However, he needs to be playing some senior football.

With a population of under 5,000, any sort of win is impressive for Montserrat.

Morsy: I Don't Think It's Momentum
at 10:45:47

Morsy is absolutely right. The most important thing for next season will be to have everyone in the team at 100%, even in the games we are expected to win. Assuming he's still captain & a regular starter, he should be a big part of this.

Released Youngster Barbrook Joins Chelmsford
at 10:17:30

I still continue the wisdom of continuing with the academy at all, especially if it isn't Category One. Developing players like Brentford did with a B team may be a better way forward. However, Brentford recently re-opened their academy, but with Category B status, as this is a requirement to enter European competition.

Phillips: McKenna Made Me Believe in Myself Again
at 18:19:43

Global - Phillips would have had a 1 match suspension for being sent off for 2 yellow cards, not 3 matches. He had a good run of games before then, but a succession of injuries meant that he played irregularly & McKenna had been hoping he would be the necessary reinforcement we needed in the engine room. I think he will struggle to find a PL club now, unless Leeds take a chance on a loan.

Harrop: Looking Back, I Should Never Have Joined Ipswich
at 11:06:38

A side of football that we don't hear much about these days because it's all about the PL players earning £m each year. Harrop actually rejected a contract extension offer from Man U when aged 21, preferring to sign for Preston, where he felt he would play more & build a career. He had a decent first season, then got an ACL injury & was never the same player. Easy to criticise Preston, but cash strapped FL clubs need to move high earning non performers out of the door.

Hurzeler: Positive Feedback From Town on Enciso
at 13:57:59

Well, if we can't get him back on loan next season, what about Jeremy Sarmiento, who by all accounts did well at Burnley this season? Only problem is we are quite well stocked with wide attackers - Burns, Hutchinson, Ogbene, Philogene & Clarke.

McKenna: Tuanzebe's Had a Good Week, Phillips and Cajuste Still Struggling
at 16:22:01

while Cajuste is a good player, I don't understand all the clamour for him to be at Town next season given that he's only been fit enough to play in half of our games. There are 46 league games next season!
Phillips has been a gamble that failed & hard to see him finding a club for next season.

McKenna: We Definitely Want to Keep Axel
at 16:39:10

I'd love to keep Axel too, but at age 27 he will want the best offer around. Not sure if he's done enough for a lower PL club to give him a decent contract as a versatile squad player.
