Town Announce New £105m Investment From Bright Path Sports Partners
at 10:39:36

PhilR - after watching the video I agree that my previous post was incorrect.
The £105m is going to the club for what it appears is newly issued shares by Gamechanger.
ORG and the other investors share of the club has been diluted accordingly to 50% to ORG.
Nevertheless, private equity funds only invest for a profit so they now have around 40% of the club valued at £105m that at some stage they will be looking for a good income in the form of dividends or a sale of their share or a percentage of it. See Man Utd's Glazer ownership to see how this works. As the owners of the club are in the first phase of their investment to build the value of the club it has been brilliant for us supporters.
However, at some stage they and ORG will be looking for a return on their investment which I assume is predicated on a return to the Premier League. The money from the TV deal for a bottom half Premier Team is around £120m but this doesn't go far when you consider the cost of players in the Premier League.
Also, most Premier clubs lose money every season and considering at best we are likely to be a lower bottom half team it puzzles me how they are going to get a return.
At the moment let's just enjoy the ride, but perhaps bear in mind that there may be a fall along the way. (and stop being unrealistic about the Champions League)

Town Announce New £105m Investment From Bright Path Sports Partners
at 12:04:20

People need to remain a bit level-headed at this announcement. Whilst it's good news that the ownership is more diversified people are running away with the idea that this £105m will be invested in the club. ORG have sold shares to this value and have retained 50% of the club. So they have made a great profit on their original investment. This profit goes to ORG not Gamechanger so that money is not available to Gamechanger or the club. Also, people are saying that the club is now valued at £262.5 million based on the £40m ORG invested. Again this is inaccurate as it doesn't take into account the £12million Gamechanger lost in the first year that was covered by ORG and the losses they may have made in their 2nd year. (The 2nd year accounts should be filed by 31st March 2024. There may also have been losses in the 3rd year to date.
Neither is it income for the club as Blue 1 posted. It's profit for ORG, the original investor.
So, dont run away with the idea that this will drive us to the Champions League as NoMore4 posted on here.

Building a High Performance Team at ITFC
at 16:41:36

fergalsharkey - That team Cook inherited was 7th in L1 when he inherited it, just 1 point of 6th. Cook managed them down to 9th place.
Cook's new team now sit in 21st place in the L1 relegation zone.
What a sad little individual you must be in that you cannot bear somebody to have a different opinion to yourself.
Still, with Cook, things can only get better. Until that happens, it would be best to remain quiet. You could end up looking very silly.

"Just reflect on what it’s like within the organisations that you work in, or when you are kicking off a new project."
Yes, I have, and I have never known a manager to start off by abusing his team telling them that they are all useless and he is going to get rid of all of them then expecting them to perform for him until he has replaced them all.
Cook has caused this problem by his own actions and now we get the excuses that they need to "gel" or they need to get to know one another.
Rather than integrate his new players slowly into a core of his better inherited players, he chose the nuclear optionand it has blown up in his face.
I have no respect for a manager who criticizes his team members in the press and the words he used in describing them as Sunday League and that they can all go and he will be demolition man on them just compounded the poor man-management skills of Cook.
He said in his last post-match interview that " with this squad of players we should be doing far better than we have". Well if the players are good, and the club is in good hands perhaps Cook should be looking at himself as the weak link.

Dav86 - Why couldn't they call Ian Craney a coach? Was there a law against Wigan signing another coach? if you believe that BS you will believe anything.
Even Craney said in an interview that he was kitman. "I started my coaching badges but a kitman suits me better."

Cook, Ashton and O'Leary to Attend PLC EGM

The Jam. Evans owns 5% of Gamechanger 20 Ltd, so in effect owns 5% of 87.5% of ITFC. Which means he owns 4.38% of ITFC. He also owns the piece of the training ground that lies between Bucklesham Rd and Bent Lane.

Appiah Times Ahead For Town?
at 19:11:43

Why are people going overboard on this? He played 6 times for Forest in the Championship in season 2018/2019. Zero league appearance in 2019/20 before being sold to Spanish 2nd Division Almeria in September 2019. He then made 21 appearances for Almeria in season 2019/2020 with a total of 851 minutes. Not even 10 full games. He made 1 appearance in 2020/21 before making 4 appearances for Almeria B in the Spanish 3rd Division. He was then loaned to Lugo in Feb 2021.
Is this the type of player we need to get out of this division?

Reflections On the Change of Ownership at Ipswich
at 14:51:03

Blues1. You really shouldn't comment on things you cannot understand. If you could read I said "In fact, at the time of Lambert's replacement, the club was on course for the playoffs with a 50% win record for the season thus far."
Note the words "for the season so thus far".
To make clearer for you, Lambert was manager for 30 games this season and 15 were won. Ergo 50% win rate for the season.
Again you obviously do not understand percentages. The 3 lions have 5% of Gamechanger between them.
Gamechanger has 87.5% of ITFC so the 3 lions have 5% of 87.5% which = 4.38% between them. 4.38% divided by 3 = 1.46% .
Hence, they have 1.46% each.
Marcus Evans continues to hold 5% of Gamechanger so owns 4.3% of ITFC. Exactly the same as the 3 lions hold collectively.
The largest holder of Gamechanger and hence ITFC is ORG Az Secondary Opportunity LP who holds over 75% of Gamechanger.
The 3 lions are not part of ORG Az Secondary Opportunity Fund as it is an independent real estate fund owned by ORG Portfolio Management LLC who manages money on behalf of the Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement Scheme.
Perhaps you should get your figures right before posting rubbish.
The 3 lions have had some success at Phoenix Rising but at a club that is English National League at best and attracts gates of around 6,500. It is also the 3rd division in the US below the MLS and NASL.
As the MLS is the league where European and S American stars retire to for a last payday it is probably best not to quote a team another 2 tiers below this as a great success.
Here are a couple of web pages that may help you with your figures:

Reflections On the Change of Ownership at Ipswich
at 14:19:01

RegencyBlue

Do you have your head in the sand regarding our "new owners"?

The decline of ITFC started long before Evans came along and probably started with us going into administration around 2003, a good 5/6 years before Evans came on board.. Evans had a go at investing in the club early in his tenure but to no avail. Howver, but for his willingness to cover our annual losses over the next 12 years we would have gone back into administration many years ago.
No doubt you are a fanboy of our much touted "new owners" the 3 lions who own 4.38% of ITFC between them. Exactly the same amount that Evans still owns all by himself.
The actual majority owner (more than 75%) of ITFC is ORG Az Secondary Opportunity Fund, a fund that has been set up to maximise a profit from real estate.
Co-owner Mark Detmer (with 1/3 of 4.38%) is a real estate expert who in an interview in the Ipswich Star today says that:
“My professional career is centred around industrial real estate and making markets," he explains, when pushed on his area of expertise.
When you make a market you absolutely represent the best interests of the parties you represent in negotiations."
With his tiny 1.46% of ITFC I guess he will be representing the best interests of the party that he represents. That would be ORG Az Secondary Opportunity Fund, the real estate fund and real owner.
Have you wondered why these 3 lions who own a paltry 1.46% of ITFC each always fail to correct journalists when they are described as "co-owners"? Technically they are co-owners, but they are just mouthpieces of ORG Az who actually call the tune.

Can you not see the dissonance between so-called "new owners" who are going to do wonders for ITFC, a football club, and the fact that the main protagonists are mostly from "real estate" backgrounds?

Just be careful of going overboard with the love for the new "owners" and wait to see where we are in 3 years time.

RegencyBlue - Your contention that ITFC was heading for the 4th Division doesn't bear scrutiny. In fact, at the time of Lambert's replacement, the club was on course for the playoffs with a 50% win record for the season thus far. Unfortunately, since Cook's tenure, we have managed relegation form with a miserable win record of 25%. Under our real estate expert new owners, should we fail to provide a profit in quick time we will be heading for administration and worse when their funding ceases.

The Blue Monday-TWTD Podcast - Mark Detmer Special
at 22:59:02

It's worth mentioning here that whilst Mark Detmer owns around 1.69% of ITFC via Gamechanger 20 Ltd and is described as "co-owner", Marcus Evans still owns around 5% of ITFC via Gamechanger 20 Ltd and is invariably described as "ex ITFC owner".
Also it is ORG Az Secondary Opportunity Fund LP that owns the remaining 90% of Gamechanger 20 Ltd.
ORG Secondary Opportunity Fund LP is a real estate fund and is described as "A real estate fund pools the capital of various investors for the purpose of equity and debt investments in property.
Nothing there about managing football or sports facilities.
You just have to wonder why a real estate fund managed by a company that specialises in real estate wants to invest in a 3rd tier English football club that with the best will in the world is extremely unlikely to make profits by getting to the Premier League and sustaining their stay in that league in the next 5 years.

Here We Go
at 17:09:05

The fact of ITFC ownership is clear. It is owned by Gamechanger 20 Ltd. What is also clear is who owns Gamechanger 20 Ltd.
Brett Johnson, Mark Detmer and Berke Bakay who are frequently mentioned as the "new owners" of ITFC in fact own very little of Gamechanger 20 Ltd. They own around 1.69% each. In fact, Marcus Evans continues to own more of ITFC through his ownership of 5% of Gamechanger and the land on the Bent Lane side of the training complex than the 3 Lions together.
The vast majority of Gamechanger is owned by ORG Az Secondary Opportunity Fund L.P. They own more than 75% of Gamechanger 20 Ltd.
ORG Az is a "real estate" fund with assets of $209.6 million which is is managed by ORG Portfolio Management.
I am wondering why a "real estate" fund owns ITFC rather than a "Sports Management" fund. Unless it is after ITFC "real estate".
As ElephantinintheRoom says it will be interesting to see where the club is in a years time.

Jewell: We're Nowhere Near Good Enough At the Moment

So the wonderful Paul Jewell motivational people skills strike again. "We are nowhere good enough at the moment". The players are bound to respond to that. NOT. When is that scouse muppet ever going to learn that you do not wash your dirty linen in public. Does Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourhinuo, Pep Guardiola et al slag of the ability of their players in public. I don't think so. It looks like we are in for another long season of mediocrity.
