How plausible is this really? Brentford are a well established Premier League club not short of a few bob. They even had realistic aspirations for Europe last season. With their team likely to be filleted (ok, Mbeumo may be off at least), are they likely to go for an unproven manager like McKenna? His stock has surely fallen a little since last Summer? Or am I just being blindly optimistic that he’ll stay…? |

I thought we did great - the whole team performed superbly but sadly tired after the break. Before the break Morsy and Luongo were solid, as was Davis. We will learn a lot and take heart that we matched one of the finest club teams in world football.
Pockets of complaints about certain players not being up to it - particularly Chaplin - but given that we were missing Broadhead and Hirst (two of his key co-conspirators) it was hardly surprising that some of his clever movement and passes were on a different wavelength to his new team mates.
Shame we lost Burns. Just seems to run himself into injury lately, which is a concern. Delap and (particularly) Greaves both hugely impressive.
Liverpool fans shockingly quiet and half & half shirts are a crime against humanity. My new seat isn’t as nice as my old one but I’d rather be in the stadium than not.

...and when Leif's winner went in I felt like I was going to pass out.
Terrific second half performance once the subs came on. I felt Bristol City played almost the perfect away game till that point - doubling up, closing the channels, breaking at pace, prime sh!thousery with the ref (who aside from being dreadful, looked like he'd had a spray tan before the game because he was on tv).
But those perfectly timed and chosen substitutions saved the day. |

I don’t post often - to the relief of everyone - but what a result. The first goal was a stunner (that pass from Broadhead was total Hollywood), but the pace and endeavour from Burns for the second, not to mention Hirst breaking the net with what looked like a lost cause, blew my tiny mind. And Sheff Weds really are $h!tting the bed aren’t they? |
