 | News Comment | Wrexham Closing in On Broadhead Signing at 15:23:21
Buttocks ready to get bitten by this one. I can see from all parties this may be the right move, but he's a decent player and I'm expecting him to play a significant part on our games against them. |

I think a lot of the issues with Muric are also his off-field antics. There is a good keeper in there somewhere but the Bruce Grobbelaar style is not for me. I personally feel Palmer is a better all round keeper and instills more confidence in the back line. There is nothing worse that looking back to find your keeper is out at the corner flag trying to make a tackle. Perhaps David button will calm him down a bit. |
 | News Comment | Wrexham Make £7m Approach For Broadhead at 21:22:29
£7M gets you nothing in this league. He's worth way more than that. If he wants to leave, he has my best wishes and gratitude, but I would love him to stay. |

I can't decide if he would command a massive salary or not. I don't think MA would spend big on someone at this stage in their career. Maybe at 35, Young would want to pump his pension fund as full as possible. But at 40 and still lucky enough to be fit enough top play, why would he miss his (potential) swansong season for being greedy? But then, experience is something that you can clearly buy after all. |

I remember singing "He's here, he's there" at Roker Park in 1992, and the police told us off. Substitute in "...were not allowed to swear...." and the problem was solved. Plod has a laugh too, back in days when they were human. |
 | News Comment | Brentford Make £35m Bid But Fail to Meet Terms Ahead of Release Clause Deadline at 13:34:52
If you have ever listened to the podcast The Price of Football, Kieran Maguire explained (not sure which episode) how complex some of these payment plans can be. A club could still be paying for a player that has long since left the club. Maybe we are still paying for Delap or Tuanzebe for example. I guess in this case, Brentford were putting down a really small deposit and paying us over 3 or 4 years. Maybe they are hedging their bets against being sucked into a relegation battle this season and don't want to spend too much. This is clearly no use to us as we would need the cash for the replacement player, or at least a decent deposit. I'm sure the intricacies of football business are way more complex than my small brain can comprehend, but it seems to me we are offering a financial service to Brentford so they can buy our player. Nuts to that!!! You want him, you give us the money - now! Why should we be fleeced so you can have a player at cut price? And if they fail to keep up payments, do we send the bailiffs in to get him back? |
 | News Comment | Carrick: Doak Fine Despite Transfer Speculation at 14:23:24
I understand he is young and there is bags of potential, but 2 goals in 18(3) at Championship level can't really justify a £30m price tag, can it? That makes Delap worth £50m. |
 | News Comment | Morsy: Muric Has Become a Little Bit of a Scapegoat at 18:47:06
I think it's more of an attitude issue, or a not fitting in issue. If he isn't joining in the celebrations with the other players, that is a real flag. He didn't seem that bothered after his Bournemouth gaff either. I'd have my head in my hands, or punching the ground, maybe a few curse words to the sky. But he just emotionless, turned round and readied himself for kick off, like it was a training session. |
 | News Comment | Boro Striker's Agent Expecting Something to Happen in January at 09:42:37
2 ways to think of it, decent Champ striker on form and scoring (but well over priced) who may not make the grade, or Prem experience but has not played much this season? Generally we have found good talent in the lower leagues, and certainly agree about looking overseas. it will give away my generation if I mention we have usually done well finding Dutch talent. |
 | News Comment | Burgess: Jota's Squeal May Have Won Penalty at 11:15:39
Given that we tapped up Burley, Butcher and Osman for a pep talk a while back, perhaps we should get Muric (and all the keepers) over to Tenerife to a round of golf with Paul Cooper, the "Penalty King" |
