I don't see the problem myself - if everyone was fit we have 2 or 3 decent options in every position, and if we continue to be plagued by injuries we can dip into the loan market to fill a gap.
The team is flying high and most importantly of all we have a system that everyone seems to understand, as well as a flexible squad with many players such as Peters, O'Connor, Edwards and Kennedy who are able to switch confidently between a number of positions.

Burley is the same as any manager in that he has always tapped into players and coaches that he has worked with before. Malcolm Webster has followed him everywhere, and with him people like Kelvin Davis and Lewis Price. He took Rasiak and Idiakez to Southampton from Derby (and Chris Makin to Derby).
Having said that Burley has always been a big fan of Simon Hunt and casting his net wide into Europe - I'd certainly like to see Keane look further afield but he is still gaining experience. |

Good addition for me, he is a quality keeper from what I have seen. RK obviously believes a top keeper is key to a successful side, and based on the impact that Begovic made last season you can see his point.
If this is one of the 5 then no problem, but if it's one of 3 and Kennedy is another, then I sincerely hope that Chopra or a striker of his calibre is on his way |

Plus, in what way is RK making Priskin feel unwanted? We paid a lot of money to bring him to Portman Road, he has been given a lot of opportunities to prove himself, and Keane obviously still has faith in him as he hasn't put him on the 'list of 8' (unlike Martin, who also cost us a lot of money) and has stuck with him in the pre-season matches? |

We are only 'threadbare' in terms of quality for strikers - we have 6 on our books and that is far too many, especially seeing as amongst us we can't pick a favoured 2 of them the start every game, just Wickham - that sums up the problem.
Maybe being delusional but I think Keane must have someone waiting in the wings (probably Chopra) to come in and that deal is not as cool as we think, and a back-up plan (maybe a loan) if it doesn't. Either way he clearly wants rid of half of those 6, and will probably listen to offers for the other 3 if forced to.
Failing that, maybe (I hope not) he thinks that even with 3 of them going, we have enough to challenge up front. But that is putting a lot of faith in Wickham (totally deserved so far) and banking on a marked improvement in Priskin and Walters this season. Could explain the 4-3-3 we've been practising?

Seems like the youth set up at the club is really moving forward after a few off years. Good coaching set up and plenty of youngsters being given the opportunity to progress through the ranks.
This can only be a good thing and hopefully we will see more and more academy players breaking through, instead of having to buy in players. |

Glad things are moving, we need to shift some of these unwanted players - if it means doing it at bargain prices then so be it, most important things is to clear them out.
No disrespect to Stead, I think he gave his all to ITFC and deserves appreciation for that.
Hopefully this movement will open the door for the long-awaited new striker - surely Keane has someone lined up and is just waiting for the departing players to sign?
