 | News Comment | Taylor Faces Surgery at 15:02:53
Not good news, was good for 10-15 goals I felt. Another worrying note is that of N'Daw, who was probably our best player Saturday. Onwards and upwards though! |
 | News Comment | Town Confirm McCarthy Manager at 09:33:37
Welcome Mick! Terrific news for this football club! On a side note, I have a weird version of that 'Barbra Streisand' song going through my head, only the words 'Mick McCarthy' are replacing them... makes sense if you sing it... |
 | News Comment | Holloway Now McCarthy's Main Rival at 18:37:33
I would love nothing more than this to work as I think the bloke's a genius but I have that horrible nagging feeling that this could all go badly wrong... |
 | News Comment | Burley Interested in Old Job at 10:50:53
hodgie1989 Yes - that was a decade ago. There isn't a Town fan on the planet that won't forever be grateful to George Burley. But this is 2012 - people are letting their hearts rule their heads. |
 | News Comment | Burley Interested in Old Job at 10:43:21
Mills? No. Butcher? No. Burley? Never go back. Just because they've played for the club and they love the club, doesn't mean they're the right manager for the club. |
 | News Comment | Jewell Considering Changes Against Old Club at 11:55:38
Team I would play: Loach Edwards Chambers Higginbotham Cresswell Martin Reo-Coker Hyam JET Chopra Campbell Team PJ will play: Henderson Edwards Chambers Higginbotham Cresswell JET Drury Reo-Coker Murphy Martin Campbell |
 | News Comment | Edwards: Not All Squad Backing Boss at 09:15:47
Between Jewell and Edwards' comments since Saturday, the game tonight has become nothing more than a sideshow. Worrying, worrying times. |
 | News Comment | Edwards: Second Goal a Problem at 09:09:10
"in a nutshell this is the same situation as Roy Keane's last few weeks in the job." As WarkyWonderland said, they are just waiting for the inevitable. I don't think PJ has as much of the dressing room as he likes to think. |
 | News Comment | Town Linked With Gerrard Move at 18:57:05
On a side note, did anybody else briefly, just for a second, get a little bit lost in the moment when they read the headline: "Town linked with Gerrard move" - it wasn't Anthony I first thought of! |
 | News Comment | Wickham Linked With Town Return at 22:15:12
I'd personally be in favour of this for reasons already mentioned - somebody to play off Chopra is badly needed, and not to mention he knows the club etc. I think it was alfromcol who made the point that we've lost our own players before - if it was a season long loan with no recall option, I don't see the problem. I do agree that anything else is pointless. But with Hyam signing a 1 year deal, if this was a season long loan, it's essentially the same thing. Sonko just left, Bowyer just left. They were "permanent", but might as well have been season long loans. |
 | News Comment | Jewell: Town Indebted to Lee-Barrett at 18:57:13
algarvefan why can't you focus on the players that are here at the club, the players that did well today and today's result, not to mention that you're completely off topic. |
 | News Comment | Peters Back With Town at 11:04:51
SouperJim you beat me to it. He was woeful against Northampton and that will stick in PJ's mind. Can't see him here beyond the summer. |
 | News Comment | Clegg: No Decision Made on Academy Category at 11:01:38
“You only need to throw a Connor Wickham, a Titus Bramble or a Kieron Dyer every few years. It's quite interesting to look at those figures.” Is that all you think about, Mr. Clegg? The £ signs? Does the footballing future of this club ever come into question any more?..... thought not. |

 | News Comment | Jewell: No Complaints About Effort at 20:51:51
After skimming through the comments I just thought I'd add my "two cents" 1) We lose Saturday he has to go, it's as simple as that. And for the record I'm a "Jewell inner", but it's a results business. 2) I don't know about anybody else, but I'd rather the manager be praising his team for three points on a Monday morning than for "effort". The words clutching and straws come to mind. 3) I couldn't give a toss about what Keith Andrews has to say quite frankly. It smacks off somebody who is simply thinking well I'll be out of here this time next month anyway. He will not be here for the "transitional period" and neither will Collins, simple as. |

Would welcome him with open arms, exactly the type of player we are crying out for. |
 | News Comment | Jewell: We Concede When We Come Under Pressure at 18:58:57
Something small but it's got to me: "the first goal is definitely the keeper's fault" - Mr. Jewell directly blames Stockdale for the first goal (rightly) though bar Cresswell he has been our most consistent performer this season and has saved us from more embarrassing results. Yet for the third goal: "a deflection off Grant's head has fallen right for their player" - he refuses to blame Leadbitter for what was a defensive error, the ball should have been headed clear. Leadbitter is the worst captain in the history of ITFC and any manager wouldn't have him in his starting XI, never mind skipper. Mr. Jewell, if you are going to blame individual players, be consistent about it, and at least blame the right ones. |
