Lambert Contract Clause

Assuming Lambert has a clause in his contract so that if we fail to make the play-offs in 2019/20 he can be sacked for a minimal pay-off...

Hypothetically, If the season is voided, and Lambert didn't have the opportunity to meet that condition, does this mean we are now tied to Lambert for the next 4years unless we make a huge payout? Would the clause rollover to the 20/21 season?
