 | News Comment | Malarczyk: I Didn't Move to England to Give Up After Six Months at 16:15:03
I think we all forget his performance at Old Trafford too. He led the defence magnificently that night and yes, we lost, but he got his head on all sorts and was playing next to Yorwerth. I think there's a player in there and as soon as we are 100% out of the play-off race, get him in the team. And, one last thing: they are very dignified quotes. Hats off. |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: Build on Huddersfield Draw at 09:36:49
"So we've got good strikers, it's probably a bit alien to them that they're not first choice but I thought both of them had a great reaction to coming on on Saturday. And they have to because they've not been at their best." 100% the case with Murph, but Didzy? Hands down our best player and hardly in bad form. |
 | News Comment | Scorer of U14s’ 'Barcelona' Goal Joins Arsenal at 09:15:09
That goal gets better every time I watch it. It's like they're playing FIFA. Hell of a lot of money for a 14-year-old, that. Can't really grumble at the club taking it. |
 | News Comment | Murphy Flattered By Speculation at 09:59:15
"I think next year Ipswich need to make signings because we need more players and hopefully they give the gaffer money to do that.” A slightly worrying quote. Murph was one of our stars I was sure wouldn't be going anywhere because of his age, but reading this, I'm not so sure. |
 | News Comment | Taylor Training With Blackburn at 13:06:22
£10,000 a week our highest earner surprises me. I thought Berra, Didzy, Murph etc would be on £15k+. |
 | News Comment | Bajner Leaves Town For Notts County at 21:37:11
Have been told by a Notts supporting friend that we agreed to this in exchange for them dropping any clauses there may have been in the Bart deal - promotion bonus etc. If true, great business. |
 | News Comment | McCarthy a Long-Time Sears Fan at 16:16:04
Hats off to all at the club for such an astute signing, that I don't think any of us saw coming. A different type of player to Murph and McGoldrick, and one who is doubtless very keen to prove himself at a higher level. What a time this is to be a Town fan. |
 | News Comment | Hungarian Striker at Town at 12:28:50
Intriguing signing. I'd even question if we need a new striker, with Didzy and Murphy to lead the line, Mick continuing to back Nouble, and Marriott waiting in the wings, but hey, who doesn't get excited by an unkown, obscure signing? He might be brilliant. |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: New Additions Will Improve U21 Squad at 09:34:33
Lovely news that Mick's considering giving Marriott a go in the first team. Honestly don't think there'll be many better well-rounded, tight knit squads come the first game of the season. |
 | News Comment | Bialkowski Deal Edges Closer at 13:47:50
I'd much rather a signing like this than another Premier League loanee, or a 'name', i.e. Loach. I'd imagine people were sceptical about Gerks last season, and look how well he did? Was fantastic for Notts last season (I saw them plenty of times) and is a model pro. Think he'll eventually take the number one shirt from Gerken. |
 | News Comment | Bialkowski Deal Could Be Done Today at 15:19:43
Some great, reasoned comments on other Bialkowski threads today. Notts fans are very sorry to see him go, he was fabulous for them last year, and was key to them staying up. He's a Championship goalie, and I for one am delighted we've got him. Forget his first spell here, it's irrelevant. |
 | News Comment | Bialkowski Linked Again at 10:40:50
Saw a lot of Notts last season and honestly, Bialkowski was top class. Honestly think he's a better goalie than Gerken, and having spoke to him a few times, he's also a very good pro, a grounded family man. Would settle in brilliantly at PR. |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: Gerks Has Been Outstanding at 13:43:45
Seen someone up top say we should "go for Darlow". What world do some of you live in? Here's going to cost at least £3m. Gerken will be keeper next year, and he's good enough. |
 | News Comment | Hammond: Contract Offer Eased Pain at 14:05:19
I'm up at uni in Notts and have covered a lot of Notts County games this season for the student mag. Since Derry took over, Murray has featured heavily, and recently he has been little short of sensational. Quality finish at the weekend, two vital goals away at Crewe etc. Five goals in four games when you're where they are in the table is not to be dismissed. If he keeps them up, he'll be a hero. The only strange thing I've found about the whole scenario is that Kiwomya, who bought him in and clearly knew him from his time with us, barely used him at all, when clearly, he might have helped keep him in his job. |
 | Blog Comment | Kieron: One of Suffolk's Greatest Talents, Ill-Served by Dire Headlines at 10:46:52
Brilliant blog, people often forget that he did love playing football. I heard a story that he broke down in tears when he was close to coming back from the double leg fracture, but his body let go again. As an aside though, I liked the Guardian article. I don't think it was quite as negative as portrayed, more of a general look at football's excesses of the past fifteen years. £80k a week at West Ham was undeniably ludicrous. |
