Josh Brownhill - are we in for him?
at 17:26 28 Jul 2025

Seems an obvious one to go for doesn't it. Strange that he has not found a club yet but I guess finances may be putting off a few.

Maybe as the window progresses any demands might be lowered. Note that not many of the top flight clubs seem to be upgrading in central midfield (Arsenal being the obvious exception), so that may have a little something to do with it.

I expect that he would be aiming higher than an immediate championship return.

On the first point, it’s legal. Both players go at the same time with them same intention. There’s no issue with the clear out. It just looks worse than it is.

What the post on Twitter is eluding to is that the Aussie player joins the ruck from the side, so should have been a Lions penalty anyway, before he is cleared out of the way.

Omari buy back clause if we sell
at 11:26 21 Jul 2025

There is so much wrong with this post.....

We didn't only sign EFL players - Phillips, Muric, O'Shea, Johnson, Enciso, Cajuste all have played in top divisions. yes they didn't bring what we hoped for but the statement is false.

We have not made a financial 'mess' - we have recouped most of our 2024 outlay with 2 sales. In 2 years we have gone from dealing with loans and sub £1m deals to selling 2 players in excess of £30m

We are not for sale. This move is about bringing yet more investment into the club.

The team currently is better than that one that got promoted 12 months ago (albeit with a few signings still required). So there has been a huge development in 12 months.

Gamechanger doesn't have faith in MA?? Yet have just sanctioned a £9m purchase in the Championship and more will follow

A bit of realism about how far we have come is needed here

Omari buy back clause if we sell
at 16:15 18 Jul 2025

Love the idea, but I very much doubt there has ever been an instance where a club in a lower division gets a buy-back clause into a deal.

I fully expect that we will insert a sell on % of profit though

The only way we get more than £30m is if a club does not want to pay all of the release clause in one hit. Release clauses are 100% payable in full. They cannot be in instalments. If, for example a club didn’t want to outlay the full £30m in one hit, they could potentially offer more and pay in instalments.

No, we have to accept £30m....
at 22:45 9 Apr 2025

True. I’m just going off the guardian report stating a £30m relegation release clause.

There seems to be some misconceptions on here that there could still be a bidding war even if this was the case.

If the £30m RRC is true, the only bidding war will be wages, sign on and agents fees.

Incorrect. We HAVE to accept any bids at £30m if the reports are accurate

No one will bid more

Are all eyes now on Man City?

Ha! I am not hanging all of my own hopes on this. I have been sadly pessimistic about our chances from a very early point in the season.

Friendly wager?

Yes, apologies. Didn't go into the finer details of who does what IRO punishment.

The point on the deterrent is the key isn't it. Fine's and embargo's just won't cut it.

Bookies making sure they are covering themselves. I think the odds were quite short even at the start of the season

I can't see this happening personally, as they won't change the way promotion is obtained from the Championship mid season

Lots of news articles popping up over the past few weeks that we are likely to hear the initial findings either in March or around Easter. So am starting to think of the most likely scenario's.

With an appeals process which is believed could take 'months' I wonder whether there is enough time for any punishments to be given this season.

Now, I know everyone's general thought is that there is no way the PL will affect that much punishment that it relegates them, but I have to disagree with this due to the precedent that it sets for everyone else. If it is only a fine or embargo, what stops Newcastle (as the richest club) then just spending ridiculous amounts in 1 or 2 windows to win some silverware, knowing a punishment is likely 3 years away minimum.

All articles I have seen have said somewhere between 60-100 points. Even 60 likely relegates them as even winning every remaining game would get them to 19 points. Either us or Leicester will finish on a minimum of 18

So, selfishly thinking about us, the hope is that any punishment and then appeals are finalised by the end of this season, and then of course we finish above Leicester at the very least.

I know it is a lot of if's but's and maybe's, but I am clinging onto every remaining hope that we still have a good chance of staying up.

Terrible film but Halle Berry always been a favourite

Ana de Armas didn't get enough screen time in No Time to Die

Izabella Scorupco still looks incredible at 52

Honourable mention for Ivana Humpalot....

if we get relegated....how will the team line up by end of August?

Interested to know why people think Davis and Hutch will defo be off? Neither have really set the world alight this year.

I think there is a chance one or both could still be here.

Jens unfortunately will be off

I also read the same and must admit didn't know it was a rule. Found this on give me sport website:

They have continued to change in recent years, with FIFA announcing in January 2022 that by July 2024, the number of players allowed to be loaned out and loaned in will be reduced from eight to six. During the 2023/24 season, clubs were allowed seven loan players in and seven loaned out.
