 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 5-0 Sheffield United - Match Report at 07:00:42
What a great night! We suddenly looked much more direct and didn't resort to interminable passing around without any end product, even when five nil up. I've always believed in Philogene and he came up with the goods. The new additions are already beginning to assimilate, and they will only get better. There were still some wayward passes at times in the first half, so still things to work on. But this team is now ready to give anyone in this league a serious game. |
 | News Comment | Travis: Cajuste Tackle Totally Accidental at 18:43:03
I didn't have any particular feelings for or against for Derby prior to this match. I suppose I thought they were an ok club. But after this grotesque display of cheating, encouraged by the manager, and the obvious violent and deliberate back kick towards Cajuste, I begin to despair of what football has become and I certainly don't like Derby now! Can we not get back to playing a clean game, getting rid of all the theatricals, and just accept "may the best team win"; or is that just too romantic in today's money-driven circus? |
 | News Comment | Town Complete Egeli Signing at 07:16:40
Like most on here, I'm very excited by this recruitment, but we must remember we are signing potential, not the finished product. Given his history to date, I think there's a very good chance Sindre will turn out to be the star we all hope for, but we will need to be patient. This level is a step up in quality and the Championship is an unforgiving league. Welcome, Sindre! |
 | News Comment | Town Agree Fee For Norwegian Youngster Egeli at 12:08:38
If this comes off - and it looks as if it will - it's potentially the top signing of the bunch. Very excited by this lad. I like your Norwegian greeting, rkl. Swedish is pretty similar: Välkommen till Ipswich, Sindre! |
 | News Comment | Town Confirm Furlong Signing at 20:50:38
Well, that was one transfer that seemed very quick and easy. Pity they couldn't all be like that, but I suppose there are many reasons as to why not. Should be an interesting couple of days ... Furlong seems a solid bet. Welcome! |
 | News Comment | Town to Sign Norwich Midfielder Nunez at 21:20:23
I really hope that injury doesn't keep him out too long. Do Naarwich know something we don't? Anyway, good to get a midfielder in at last. It must have been a real struggle. |
 | News Comment | Blues Linked With Wales International James at 19:01:46
Wish I could go away from TWTD for a couple of days and come back and see some progress in the transfer department. Trouble is, I can't resist checking in daily (often more than once) in the hope of some developments. |
 | News Comment | O'Shea: There's Confidence in the Group at 10:27:04
Also, I'm not in the "knock J Clarke" camp. I think he's a good player. But I do think that he and Leif get in each other's way on the left. This is probably why Leif keeps coming inside instead of bombing down the wing like he used to pre-PL. I think that playing both on the left is a bit of a problem, but I don't have an answer as to how to solve it. |
 | News Comment | O'Shea: There's Confidence in the Group at 10:18:58
Maybe a few too many "patterns" and not enough directness? Anyway, I'm expecting things to improve once the transfer window is behind us. |
 | News Comment | Egeli: I Know There's a Town Bid, Up to the Clubs to Agree at 08:54:57
If a figure of £23 million being turned down is true, it might be very difficult to get this one over the line. However, I hope we do. This lad will surely be an investment for the future, and signing him would be a big positive after all the negativity recently. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Have a New Team to Build at 17:21:17
dieselmorris is right. Hutchinson, Broadhead, Delap and Morsey all wanted to leave for different reasons. We clearly need some midfield reinforcement, which I hope will come this week. It isn't as if we haven't already tried to fill this gap, but the transfer market is very tough - we are not the only club on the lookout for good players. It's incredible to read so much invective after only 3 games and one narrow defeat. Keep that faith, and I think things will work out. |
 | News Comment | Preston North End 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 18:20:42
I didn't enjoy today, but come on! Calling for McK to go three games into the season after two draws and one defeat in which we had most of the possession is ridiculous. Yes, there's much to be done, but the team needs our support. Let's wait until we are 10-12 games into the season before we begin throwing our dummies out of the pram. |
