After all the excitement of a takeover last season I am worryingly getting a horrible feeling of deva vu again when Paul Hurst was setting out his stall for the forthcoming season. The concern is that he is lething all the supposed good players leave. If a player is being bought by a championship team ie QPR and not considered good enough to be playing in the Ipswich team what does that say about the judgement of our new manager. It looks as though Downes will also go, someone we desperately held on to last season from a Prem team. I now see that Lankester is also going to Cambridge...another bright young player never given a chance. Also we are always being 'linked' to all these other players by the EADT but no incoming players happen. Can the journos just wait and stop speculating who we will sign until the player has actually signed on the dotted line!! How many times have we seen clubs throw large amounts of money at a team and still get no success. I hope I am wrong and Cook does know what he is doing but I can't see a team of strangers winning the first match in 6 weeks time. Hold on tight and get ready for League 2!!! Just look at what Mick Mc is doing at Cardiff.....there is a proper manager.....BTW think I will be following Colchester United next year with some proper ITFC player in. A worried man!!! |
