We’d sign a replacement for Leif even if he goes anyway, and more than likely somebody who is more attacked focussed than defensively focussed. A punt on someone like Toffolo who’s available on a free maybe?

Sad to see how Bonnes career has gone in the past 3 years.
He’s looked like a competition winner. Looks slow/unfit, touch of a trampoline, shot power of a toddler. Always looked 10 yards away from where he should have been. His confidence is presumably in the gutter. |

Today was one of the worst games I’ve watched in quite a while. Most of the match was just the ref blowing his whistle and 5 players from each team shouting at him. Players grappling or rolling around, little actual quality from either side.
We had a few decent chances to equalise at the end but I can’t say we’d have deserved a point |

Would be nice to get more than 26 points as that was Luton’s total last season.
Everyone might think we’re crap but it would be nice to be the least crap of the 6 immediately relegated sides.

Much better fit for our team even if he doesn’t have the ceiling that Delap has.
Having Hirst start and then throwing Delap on against tired defenders with 15/20 minutes to go seems a much more logical tactic than the other way around |

Should have been a red in my opinion. In the replays you can see him extend his leg to make sure his studs make contact with Silva, and I was very surprised when VAR cleared it. He’s a nasty little c**t as we know from our game in December.

Relative peanuts yes. But I think they’d be more likely to spend that money on someone from the continent or a punt with a higher ceiling.

I’d love to be wrong but 12m is fantasy land stuff surely?
If they fancied him that much surely they’d have made a push to sign him for free last summer. His stock will have gone down since last summer too seeing as he’s struggled to hold down a regular role in a side that’s been relegated with 4 games to go. He’s only started most weeks since Burns got injured and Burns wasn’t exactly on fire this season himself.
A club could find themselves a much better right sided player than Ben Johnson for 12m. |

I’m with you on this, and am surprised there are so many who want to keep him or who think he’ll ’dominate’ the Championship.
He will be one of our highest earners and has been one of our worst performers this season. Lost more duels than any other full back in the league, constantly ‘clears’ the ball to an opposition player just outside the box, and is terrible at closing down anyone preparing to take a cross.
He may well look a lot better in the championship but if a side are willing to pay actual money for him then I think we’d be mad to not take it and invest in a right back who would be a much better fit in our team. |
