 | Forum Reply | Who do you rate the worst keeper over the years at 19:09 4 Aug 2025
I agree with you about ALB yes he was never going to play for England, but he done a decent job. There a keeper I keep trying to remember around that same time, had been an ITFC youth player, and we bought him from Watford (I think) , was even born in Ipswich area. Could not catch, could not communicate with his defense, flapped at everything from ground level to everything 50ft over the bar. I seem to recall he only lasted 1/2 a season with us. I'm calling him, GK with no name...lol |

I’m thinking if we are in the top 3 and close on points at Christmas he might change his mind in the winter transfer window. That’s assuming Boro is mid table or lower |

Yes he did, and he always needed the arm of Bobby Robson to keep him happy. You imagine how coaches are now, they don’t have just 1 playing thinking he should play week in week out. This makes me think about HH leaving his home town to come to little Ipswich and knows only Omar but even then not to well. |

The earliest one which comes to my mind is Eric Gates. He kicked his toys out of the pram and went back home in NE England as he was always the sub (only 1 sub per game back then) and was never a starter. Bobby Robson went up there, gave him a hug a told him he loved him and Gatesie came back down. |

I was thinking the same thing. The issue would be his wages he is on now and what we would offer |

I hope people start looking at his current form and ability and forget how he was the first season we got him. We knew he was a rough diamond and need so good coaching. He seems to be much better than he was 2 seasons ago in my eyes |

There was a thread on here earlier this week about him coming back. I certainly would be ok if he was to return. He got better as the season went on. I feel there a player in there in the making who KMc could mold to his liking. |

I seem to feel this is not there first time to almost go out of business. Being such a small town with having Preston, Blackburn, Burnley, Bolton all less than 30 minutes drive from them, they don’t stand a chance in pulling in a big crowd. |

Sorry, did I hear you right? You mean we can only look at 1 player at a time ? We have no idea who MA is talking to daily and which players we are interested in. I do wonder how some people function daily. |

What I’m liking is players coming in are just what we need rather than panic buys. I would be ok HH and the 3 we already have. |

Add Wes Burns and Broady to. Oh and don’t forget Wolfy [Post edited 30 Jul 18:17]

But I think Al Hanidi has stepped up and could share the #9 role with A Nother #9 |

I agree I to would love to see him in every game, but his injury prone and very rarely 100% fit. He is a class act, but his fitness lets him doen |
