Edmundson Signing Confirmed
at 15:37:40

This is a very welcome signing as our back four needed strengthening. Edmundson is the perfect age for the team Paul Cook is building. He has a mixture of talent and experience that will undoubtedly improve our defence and maybe even provide a threat in the opposition box at set pieces. The four year deal will hopefully see improve as a player as we improve as a team.

Lambert: I Thought We Were Really Good, I Couldn't Ask For Any More
at 22:46:19

“It was a really good game, I thought we were really good,”
This from a team that managed just two attempts on goal in the whole game.
Please Mr Lambert stop taking the fans for fools and show a little honesty

Evans Disappointed to See Season End Early, Compensation for Final Five Home Games to Be Addressed
at 22:23:58

Poor response from Evans. The writing was on the wall that this was going to happen, the offer to season tickets holders for the missed 5 + 1 games should have been discussed and in place so he could announce it now.

There continues to be poor PR coming out of Portman Road with regards to cancelled events etc, once the goodwill goes it will take a heck of a lot of hard work to win it back. I suspect the offer will the odd free ticket to unattractive games that no one wants to go to and various discounts with caveats attached, that won't actually cost the club very much. Once again the fans will be expected to bail out the club while overpaid and under performing players have been sitting at home on full pay.

Lambert: Downes is Getting Better and Better
at 22:19:25

I have liked this lad from the first time I saw him. Don't think he got a fair shout last season. Hopefully he will have more opportunities to shine this season and usurp Mr Skuse from the starting eleven.

Ipswich Town 0-2 Queens Park Rangers - Match Report
at 21:05:05

That was one of the worst displays I have seen from an Ipswich Town side, thankfully QPR were not much better than us otherwise it could easily have been a 8-0 drubbing.

Like many on here I was of the opinion that it was time for McCarthy to go, his negative tactics and stubbornness, aligned to his falling out with the fans meant there was nowhere for him to go. I was relatively pleased with the appointment of Paul Hurst, although he was not my choice. I looked forward to the new season with renewed optimism, hoping to see some positive attacking football and the Town playing a new style of the pressing game.

New players arrived and I hoped our new manager had unearthed some gems from the lower leagues. The season began slowly and I gave Paul Hurst the benefit of the doubt even though I did not approve of the sale of so many of our proven Championship strikers especially Waghorn. I hoped we would see a steady improvement as the new players bedded in and the squad adapted to the new style of play.

There has been no improvement, no matter who the manager picks, the players look like a bunch of strangers playing together for the first time, we look shaky in defence, slow and ponderous in attack. Of the 10 new players only Edwards has shown anything like the quality required for sustained Championship football. It is now all too apparent that Paul Hurst's recruitment and tactics are nothing short of disastrous.

I feel the only course of action is for him to be relived of his post forthwith and for Burley and Butcher to be installed as interim managers until the end of the season. The alternative my friends is Division 3 football and I'm sure none of us wants that

McCarthy: We've Got to Stick Together Or It'll Really Go Pear-Shaped
at 13:36:58

When asked
"Is winning now enough to get fans back on side?"
His reply was
“You tell me, you've got the ear of them better than me because I don't listen to them or take a great deal of notice.”
I think that sums up the mans contemn for the fans.
Please just leave MM, you are ruining the ethos of this club and you are breaking my heart

Milton Leaves Town
at 21:45:07

As someone who has taken part in the last two, hugely successful Team ITFC charity cycle rides, not only am I very surprised by this news, I am devastated by it. Although I cannot claim to know the guy well I have spent a bit of time with him and found him a very confident and relaxed guy who is also incredibly enthusiastic, there is no way I would label him arrogant as some have suggested.

Make no mistake about it “Milts” was very good at his job and he has built a solid and professional team around him, he will be missed by me and many more. It will be interesting to see where he ends up and whether ITFC can find a successor for his post.

I would like to thank “Milts” for all he has done for ITFC, (especially the cycle rides) and wish him all the best for the future

Henderson Happy to Be a Hammer
at 19:13:29

A poor loan by Jewel, debatable whether he is better than Loach or ALB. As we are rock bottom of Championship and he has just let in 5 I can see why he would look forward to return to WH. Send him back asap, he is not good enough for Championship (as his record with Portsmouth and ITFC testify) let alone Premiership, would rather see one of OUR keepers between the sticks than a below average loanee

Town 0-3 Sheffield Wednesday
at 22:16:35

Dismal performance from the majority of the team, the exceptions being Hyam, Carson and perhaps Wellens, just about the worst I have ever seen from an ITFC team. Clearly showed that it was a mistake to put Hutchings in charge, whole 1st team coaching set up should have been sacked along with Jewel, all to close to him. This was largely Jewel's team and Jewel's tactics, both found wanting, players had no incentive to play for and impress Hutchings (apart from their fat paypackets) Could not understand why Mohnsi was not brought on earlier when there was still something to play for. Loan players have had a disastrous effect on morale, and those who have no interest in signing for ITFC permanantly should be returned to their clubs on Monday. We are in big trouble and it will take a hell of a lot to get out of it.

Town Topic: Who Next for Town?
at 19:22:35

Some interesting names mentioned, perhaps Curbishley with Holland as assistant with a view to grooming him to be his successor.

Solskjaer would be interesting and arrive with no baggage, well thought of in the game, not sure that we would be an attractive enough proposition for him though

Paolo Sousa could be a good choice, the architect of the Swansea revolution

Coyle another good shout for me, as he likes to build a team and did very well with Burnley, not sure about his loyalty though

Safe pair of hands in Billy Davies

Dark horses are Steve Lomas and Paul Mariner

Would like to see a place made for Mick Mills though, take some of the duties away from Clegg, maybe downgrade him to tea boy.

Not sure that I trust Evans & Clegg to make the right appointment as they have already cocked it up twice!!!

50% Off for Rearranged Game
at 19:37:05

This is appalling PR from Mr Clegg, does he really live in the same world as the people he purports to represent? A 50% discount on the re-arranged game is nothing short of a disgrace. I feel sure the Cobbold's or Sheepy would have had no hesitation in offering re-admission for the re-arranged game, they may well both have been of “better stock” (particularly the Cobbolds) but they all had a feeling for the fans and knew what ITFC means to them. Although this does not affect me as I am a season ticket holder, I am ashamed that the club I love, should treat its own fans and the fans of Middlesbrough this way.

Jewell Praise for Hyam
at 22:52:29

I have always rated Hyam, hope PJ has at last seen the light that we have some talented youngsters at PR, time to give the boys a chance, see who will stand up and take it. Need to get the balance right, hungry youngsters with a point to prove with a smattering of experience, NOT old heads all over the place!!!!!!

Ellington Delighted to Be Reunited With Jewell
at 19:57:34

Must say I'm a tad under whelmed, never really rated him even when he was with Wigan, but I'm prepared to give him a chance. Suspect he will be back up for the dream team of Choppra and Wickham. Good work to sign him on a free, hope he is not on silly money, suspect at least one of Scotland or Priskin, if not both to be shown the door soon.

Town Topic: The Day We Won the UEFA Cup
at 20:04:32

I was 22, went with 4 mates the day before the game, travelled from Ipswich Station to Harwich, did not have a hotel booked, wandered round Amsterdam trying to find somewhere to stay, eventually found a place with a room for 6, we took it like a shot. The day of the game was great, Amsterdam was a real eye opener for a simple lad from sleepy Suffolk, (been back a few times now) Found a nice bar and drank with some Aussies, even back then they were everywhere, very fetching barmaid which is why we stayed there a while. Also found an English pub packed with Blue & White. Match was a bit of a blur, never thought we were in danger of loosing, especially after we scored early. Got a picture of MM lifting the cup, but he's only a little dot as he was so far away :-) So glad I made the trip, one of my best ever memories, I am lucky that I have seen us win the FA & UEFA cups, we had a great side back then, with a wonderful manager, will we ever see such days again? I doubt it, but a man can still dream...COYB

Clegg: No Regrets On Duo\'s Contracts
at 21:49:52

Seams to me on a purely business level this whole situation is a cock up, wether the blame lies at Cleggs, Keane's or ME's door is imaterial. To let two of your better players (assets we brought for around 3.5 mil BTW) contracts run down so allowing them to walk away is poor management.
Clegg saying they wanted to give PJ a "blank sheet of paper" is to put it blunty....crap. Even if PJ did not fancy either Norris or Mac, he would have been able to sell them and raise money to bring in players he did want.
Still nice to see Clegg squirm a little :-)

Players Fuming at Ransom Comment

We as supporters might think the players are holding the club to ransom, Clegg might think it also, but as the clubs chief negotiator he should never say it, he is supposed to be getting these guys onside. Once again his negotiating skills have been shown up
