Not actually AT the game but Saxon Radio coverage on a match day - ‘Goal Action!’. Still gives me chills thinking about it now. The phone news line where Bryan Knights updated us all with the goings on a Portman Road - but only after 10 mins of fluff so the call cost more! |

....that I saw banging the lid of a wheelie bin. I thought at the time it was a bit of a random thing to do but it's only just occurred to me that of course he'd be dragging a bin behind him - Wombles are famous for picking up litter and recycling! They were way ahead of their time. |
| Forum Reply | Is anyone "abroad" watching TownTV? at 19:14 13 Aug 2023
I’m a uk subscriber to Town TV but whilst in Spain and using my normal logon, an option of purchasing the game to view wasn’t available. Phil (via the club) suggested creating a new overseas account (whilst abroad) for free using a different email address. I did this for the game yesterday and bingo, the option to purchase the game appeared. Slightly clunky but not really a big deal, the ability to cast to a big telly without cables was very welcome. Slight issue with the comms/video syncing but I found stopping and starting the stream made it a bit better. |

Thanks Phil! I’ll have a bit more of a play with the app to find out how it works. |

Apologies if this has already been spoken about but with the new Town TV, is there anyway I can watch todays game whilst I’m on holiday in Spain? I’m a uk subscriber but with the subscriptions now being ‘uk’ or ‘overseas’ (with different pricing) will I even get an option to pay and watch? Cheers! |

I’ve taken to a strange new pastime recently - listening to the Town podcasts from those dark Lambert days. If I could find some from further back them I’d listen to them aswell. I revel in the misery, knowing now much better it is now. |
| Forum Reply | I can't see how they are arguing against that being red! (n/t) at 16:28 29 May 2023
Such a strange divergence of views. On the replay I instantly agreed with a red. Regardless of the fact he didn’t connect with the players leg, if he had of done it would have surely been a nasty break. It was miles over the ball, high-energy and out of control. That’s what I think, not that it means anything! [Post edited 29 May 2023 16:30]

I was gonna say the same thing! I know the convo is going off on a tangent but I just looked at the result of the 1962 Charity Shield game - we lost that one 5-1 to Spurs! And I thought I knew everything there was to know about Town. |

Sevenoaks! Seen 3 separate people in the last year, twice whilst out in in the car and once walking but too slow registering to then stop and chat. |
| Forum Reply | Yes perhaps Cook needed to go but if you think Mark Ashton is not a huge risk… at 10:30 5 Dec 2021
Suggestion is that Norwood had bought and had the potential to bring unwanted and uncomfortable attention to the club, totally at odds with our American owners values and vision and for this reason, wasn’t allowed to be selected. If this is correct, you may agree or disagree but it’s a principle that they were prepared to stand up for. |

Really? It really makes my heart sink when I see stuff like this about the fundamentals of the club. Keep it together people. He’s employed as our CEO and his career is inexorably tied to our successes or failures. He will want it to work here as much as anyone. If he’s got a big ego (I have never met him so have no judgement) who cares? Ashton has been a breath of fresh air, he and our backers have done everything right so far. It’s not worked on the pitch and they’ve acted. Maybe too early for some but you can’t deny they are hungry for success, what’s not to like? BTW, I know this won’t be read by him but all the best to Paul Cook. So sad it didn’t work out here but all the best for the future! |

That’s a lovely watch, thanks for posting! Ipswich looks quite a cool place from their photos. Not that it isn’t, of course…. |

I don't understand Waze, does it give you more information than navigating by Google maps would? Google maps automatically pops up with alternatives when confronted with a delay ahead. Do I need Waze in my life? |
| Forum Reply | The Cruncher ticket donation initiative at 11:10 15 Nov 2021
I don't think there is ANYTHING negative here, it's a wonderful thing that's just grown and grown and I think people should look at it in those terms. Whilst not his original idea (and he's acknowledged this) 'Cruncher' must have spent most of his Sunday on the phone accepting donations. I think it's grown legs and got bigger an bigger hence no JustGiving. He's also pasted a note about the charity he's working with to help with the ticket distribution - so for me, a lovely moment in our club and to all those who have either organised or donated, well done. Makes me proud. |

Blimey, some very strong opinions based on not very much at all. What about a guy trying to do a very difficult job under challenging circumstances? How can he possibly prompt such a response? Granted we are/were in a bad way but I don't think much of the blame lies at his door. |

100% can't deny it's been terrible with Evans owning us and I'm so glad we've been bought. But you've created your own narrative here - some of which I'm sure isn't correct and some of which is pure conjecture. Anyway, it's not the week for arguing - we all should be happy now, sunlit uplands and all that. COYB. |

Yeah, my thoughts precisely. Certainly pleased he's no longer got control but for all the cash he must have put in over the years to keep us afloat, he deserves a little bit of success as much as the rest of us. I must be a softy, I've never felt the anger others seem to have towards him. |
| Forum Thread | Evans retaining 5% stake at 19:39 8 Apr 2021
I’m pleased that Evans is retaining a stake in the club, albeit a share that doesn’t allow any decision-taking. It can’t have given him any pleasure from the last few years either so as we hopefully ascend towards the Prem, I’m glad he’s along for the ride as well. |

That’s what I’m saying - there isn’t even a challenge in the preceding 4 seconds before he gives the ‘foul’. There’s nothing. |
