Stormypetrel. How can you support a manager that insists that the more the crowd chant for a player, the less likely that player is to come on ? How can you support a manager that says that the reason a player was put out on loan was because " He can actually play a bit, and that was his downfall here"? How can you support a manager that consistently plays his favourite players, even when they are clearly having a run of poor form, purely because they are deemed to be "Top blokes? Then stand there and tell us that they are different class. |

My issues with Mick McCarthy as manager of Ipswich Town;
Continually plying players out of position.
Refusing to replace players that consistently underperform, then tell us how fantastic they are. Different class !! Top bloke !!
Pointing out that the more fans call for a player to be brought on as a sub, the less likely that will happen. Pathetic reasoning.
Always preferring to worry about how to set up to stop our opponents playing, rather than trying to play ourselves and make them worry about stopping us.
And finally, the saddest thing I've ever heard a football manager say. We actually let a young player go because "He can actually play a bit." What must Josh Yorwerth have thought, being released because he ca actually play football.

Seem to remember McCarthy saying much the same about Yorwerth. He was strong, fast, he could head the ball, had everything and could actually play a bit, WHICH WAS PROBABLY HIS DOWNFALL HERE.
It was that final comment that had me in utter disbelief that a manager of a professional football team could criticise one of his players for having the ability to play the game as it is supposed to be played. |

Look, we are quite clearly struggling to keep clean sheets as our defence is not playing so well. By my reckoning, this means that we will more than likely need at least two goals to win. I know, let's drop our leading goal scorer and the lad that actually looks bang in form. Keep faith with that dodgy defence, get Anderson back in and stick fantastic Tabby in the centre of midfield !!!!

Essex Tractor: Berra to be exempted from criticism but Chambers and Smith yet again displayed nil ability in control or distribution. Are you seriously trying to tell me that Berra has ability to control a ball and then accurately pass it ?
For a professional footballer he has absolutely no idea where any of his hoofs forward are going and my Nan could control a ball better than him. And she's dead !!!
If you ask me, we kept more clean sheets when Chambers and Smith were our two centre backs with Stearman at right back. Why not go back to that, with Parr taking Stearmans place. Smith is never going to look comfortable on the right side as he has no right foot. |

I am, as all Town fans should be, very pleased to see us sitting in a play off position. That said, I am also disappointed to see us go so defensive every time we take a lead. As our results show, we do not keep many clean sheets. My maths is not brilliant but this fact seems to tell me we need to score at least twice to win our games. I'd just like to see us go for it a bit more. |

When he made his home debut, against Hull I think, he was the best player on the pitch for an hour but looked a bit tired for the last half hour. Always thought he gave 100% and tried to play the right way. Honestly think he'll end up at a Championship club. Good luck to him. |
