| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-1 Derby County - Match Report at 22:48:19
The lads played well tonight, a lot of positives, but thought Pennington was immense at the back tonight, there's something of the Berra about him at center half |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-0 Brentford - Match Report at 19:48:30
Great performance today but I must say, with no centre halfs fit I thought Knudsen, Spence and Kenlock were immense, especially Knudsen, whose had his fair share of critics on here. Kenlock looks a wonderful talent for this season and beyond. Great stuff lads, keep it up. |
| News Comment | Town Travel to Fortuna in Pre-Season at 18:02:10
Just about to book travel, one thought occurs, assume there'll be no problem getting tickets for the game? ...and any ideas yet if these will be sold through ITFC, or just direct from Fortuna. Can't wait, the Fortuna guys who come over here are a great bunch and watching footy in Germany is quite a refreshing change - talking of refreshing, you can even have a beer in the stand while watching the game! |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Penalty Decisions Pivotal at 19:00:30
Utterly proud of the boys. Berra = God. He's been immense all season. So sorry when he went off as it was always going to be hard to come back from that. Not his fault, we'd have all done the same. Wonderful, wonderful show from the boys today. Next year we'll get there. |
| News Comment | Town 1-0 Bolton - Match Report at 23:41:03
At this end of the season it's a results game. Not pretty this evening, but 3 points. Bolton should have scored at least one but we should have scored more than we have done in recent games when results have not gone our way. I'm a Tabb fan, I like the effort he puts in but appreciate that he's not always the top performer and, although I don't always agree with it, I understand why many on here are not his biggest fan. Still, the boy did good tonight and the back four - although not always solid - did not concede. 3 much needed points and , always the optimist, I'm certain we can get something from Watford at the weekend. Important times - let's get behind Mick and the lads. |
| News Comment | Taylor's Contract Terminated at 15:37:00
Brother in law is a posh fan so I saw Taylor play a few times for them and was not too disappointed when he came to Frotress Portman to sign terms. I've been proved wrong though as the lad must just have a terrible attitude - which will probably upset any team where he is not the big fish (no disrespect Posh). But, the thing that grates is that he was joined on his trip along the A14 with his then teammate Boyd. He was always the better player. We agreed to give Posh £1.5m and, apparently, £10k a week for Taylor, but we sent Boydy back up the A14. Just wish MM had that kind of cash to spend - sadly Evans had his fingers burned too many times before Mick came to Suffolk. Good luck to the lad - he's got to make a living in a short career - just glad it's not at FPR anymore. |
| News Comment | Taylor Makes Fourth Loan Appearance at 15:37:28
Itcf12345 - I want to agree with you, and half of me does. My only problem, and only my opinion, Skuse and Hyam are basically the same player. Hyam will be top class in a few years but currently Skuse's experience puts him ahead of Hyam. In my mind a 442 should have one holding midfielder and one pressing forward / creating. Taylor does that. Really hard to break up Skuse and Hyam but think the team would benefit if Taylor had some minutes alongside Skuse - perhaps as a sub for Hyam to start. |
| News Comment | Anderson Only Change at Wigan at 09:08:16
Definitely a game for our two holding midfielders :-) this is one for Hyam to really stand out in, battling away in the middle of the park with Skuse. Restrict Wigan, get a few chances ourselves and who knows - I've got a good feeling about this one. |
| News Comment | Town 2-1 Yeovil Town at 23:04:50
Justaoneoff - really? Skuse can sit and hold all day long. Playing someone else in the middle with him who gets forward more does not mean he'll be left by himself all game. When Ipswich need to break it down or win it back there'll be two in the middle to do that. When there's space to go forward, then its more likely we'll go forward rather than seeing yet another ball played square or back to the centre half. |
| News Comment | Town 2-1 Yeovil Town at 22:37:01
Skuse was excellent tonight but I find it hard to understand why we are playing two holding midfielders. Hyam was poor but even if he'd had a decent game its such a defensive set up at home to one of the likely whipping boys of the league. Surprised Tunnicliffe ( and not Hyam) was taken off - he has the energy going forward and should be through the middle with Skuse holding. Lot of positives from the game -great work rate up top from McGoldrick and Murphs, Berra really solid at the back, Cressy excellent for the full 90 minutes. League table looking a little more cheery tonight. |
| News Comment | Taylor in Squad for Colchester Trip at 17:56:48
Brother in law is a season ticket holder at Posh so saw this lad play a few times for them before [briefly] seeing him in action for us. The benefit in my mind is having a player who can take on other players in the final third, take players out the game and then, importantly, do something constructive with the ball. Welcome back Paul! |
