 | Forum Reply | So Omari has a release clause of..... at 17:06 2 May 2025
I really hope Omari stays…I not sure he’s shown enough for an established team to come in for him so it’s Leeds or Burnley. Don’t see either of those teams are great options for him. I know there’s not much loyalty in football but where would he be without the coaching he’s had the last few seasons? He goes to a premiership team and spends most of his time on the bench how will that develop his career, if he stays with us pretty much plays every match he’s fit and hopefully will be one the best players in the championship. Then if we don’t get promotion he’ll have better teams coming after him and I don’t think anyone would begrudge him moving on. |

Decent players with Premiership experience would have seen us close a lot more games down when we were in winning/drawing positions. Teams like Everton came to Portman Road got ahead and just shut the game down. No Delap and Cajuste weren’t experienced players but buying players without that experience is much more of a risk and probably explains why they weren’t all successful. Surviving the first year after promotion is not about playing good attractive football it’s about grinding results holding onto 1-0 or 1-1 and keep accumulating points something we just weren’t able to do all season. |

Lots of people have been critical of our transfers. But what else could we do. A newly promoted team need to attract seasoned premiership players to give themselves a chance. But they just don’t want to come to newly promoted teams. I honestly thought Phillips was the sort of player we wanted but he just couldn’t stay fit long enough to make a difference. He showed glimpses of the good play but wasn’t on the pitch consistently enough. We got overrun in midfield in the championship at times so was always worried about stepping up a league. The good thing is most of our transfers were for players with potential to develop so still time for them to come good. Also players like Omari, Jack Clarke, Greaves etc….haven't shown enough to make an established premiership team pay enough to make selling them worthwhile and I’m convinced they will be excellent in the Championship. Midfield is the area we really need to improve in. |

Isn’t Harness on loan with another years option for next season? Looks like he’s been playing lots of games for Derby. |
 | Forum Thread | Next Season - Players On Loan at 12:12 21 Apr 2025
Thinking about next season back in the Championship, has anyone been watching any of our players currently out on loan. I’m just wondering if any of them are going to come back and force their way back into the squad or even the starting 11. We’re going to need new players and it would be a bonus if we can get some players who have improved whilst away from the club and add to the squad. |
 | Forum Reply | We have not won the midfield battle all season at 12:11 23 Feb 2025
Yesterday was the first match where I thought we won battle in midfield especially in first half but when Cajuste got injured we struggled. I’ve seen lots of hate for Phillips but yesterday he was very good and was probably our best player. I said it last season there were games we should go with 3 in midfield but that’s the system we play. I’m guessing we lose Phillips and Cajuste next season and that has to be the area we invest in. Perhaps Humphrey’s comes back but we certainly need a defensive midfielder as well. I can’t see Mass, Morsy being starters next season in fact I think Mass will leave and then without the loans we look very short in that area. |
 | Forum Reply | Not sure if it’s been discussed, but the ref was one of the worst I’ve seen at 05:20 23 Feb 2025
At 2-1 we were still in the game and I actually, perhaps naively, thought it we could have got an equaliser we’d go on to win. But I just couldn’t believe when the Spurs defender went down with a head injury the ref waited until the ball went out which would have been our throw in he brings play back and gave the ball back to Spurs, who from this scored the 3rd which ended the game as a contest. Even worse for the 4th he ignored the head injury completely. Possibly the worst official I’ve seen all season but when my son pointed out it was the same ref who ignored Chaplin being flattened against Leiciester I wasn’t surprised. He didn’t cost us the game but ruined the second half and certainly wanted to be at the centre of everything. |
 | Forum Reply | That first Tuanzebe yellow card... at 19:27 17 Feb 2025
I’m sure if it had been for one of the top teams it would have been in the media a lot more. I completely agree with McKenna that the ref was desperate to get his yellow card out for a smaller team. It was a terrible decision and yes the second was a yellow card but how did McGinn get away with 4-5 fowls and wasn’t carded. The standard of officiating has been no better in the premiership all the officials are now too reliant on VAR but VAR officials now don’t want to intervene so we end up with some awful decisions or more important non decisions. |
 | Forum Reply | That's such a blatant dive from Jota (n/t) at 16:20 16 Feb 2025
About as clear as Rashfords dive yesterday and that wasn’t given. But let’s be honest Delap doesn’t need a lot of contact to hit the deck |
 | Forum Reply | Very happy with Phillips at 16:13 16 Feb 2025
Yes needs a run of games. Time for McKenna to make a decision and start Phillips from here on in. Morsy still has a part to play coming off the bench but Phillips has to be given a run of games I just think he gives us the best chance of avoiding the drop. [Post edited 16 Feb 19:05]

 | Forum Reply | Does anyone think we missed a trick at 17:59 3 Feb 2025
Has a pretty poor first touch and not very mobile. Sorry he did well for us last season but that was in the Championship I don't think he would have been very willing to be third choice either which he would have been had he come to Town. Never thought he was Premiership quality. Also looks like we lucky not to have signed Broja too, he just can't stay fit. |
 | Forum Reply | Is the season over already? at 12:54 3 Feb 2025
Although it’s only a few points, it’s more about the players confidence or lack off. Losing to Southampton looks to have destroyed the last little bit that was left. We didn’t do anything after going behind Saturday and to stand any chance we now have to go to places like Villa or Utd and get results. That looks beyond us and Wolves are also picking up points. We have dropped too many points already to teams in the bottom half of the table and there’s now a gap opening up. I was still hopeful until Saturday but that was our last chance. The crowd and players all knew it. |
 | Forum Reply | Arguably Broady is our best number 10 at 18:09 26 Jan 2025
Agree about Broadhead his control and use of the ball are better than any of the other attackers at present. At the moment can’t help but think it’s time Hutchinson was used of the bench. He’s struggling at the moment and think he can have more of an impact of the bench later in the game, after all he’s done that for us before. |
 | Forum Reply | How much we paying for Phillips? at 19:01 25 Jan 2025
I really hate to say it but Morsy has really struggled last few games and whilst I don’t think Phillips has had the impact I was hoping for I think the skipper is the one that should be dropped. |
 | Forum Reply | Chelsea sources confirming that Delap at 07:53 23 Jan 2025
So we paid 20 million for him and isn’t there a 20% sell on clause. So I can’t see that 50 million is a very good deal for us. Considering he goes we virtually write of the season. Also he would be better of staying until at least the end of the season and playing every week as opposed going to Chelsea and spending a fair bit of time sat on the bench. His career would be best served staying at Town at least in the short term. |
 | Forum Reply | I called it out earlier in the season and I'll keep calling it out at 08:07 17 Jan 2025
Yes I agree…been a season ticket holder for a few years now and never leave a minute early. How I loved waving goodbye to the Chelsea fans the other week who thought we’d be a walkover, so I’m certainly not walking out early. Site it’s something the players notice too. But pays your money make your own choices. |
 | Forum Reply | Missed Morsy at 04:26 17 Jan 2025
That’s exactly what I thought. Morsy has been amazing but last night was the first time I’ve thought his days as an automatic first choice are numbered, he looked like he was running in concrete, really seemed to struggle and couldn’t influence the game. I think Phillips started with Sunday in mind, where he can’t play. I could see another midfield player coming in along with a striker. Plus a couple moving out. |
 | Forum Reply | Janoi: A little bit late, and a post I have kind of made before at 16:10 13 Jan 2025
I’d been thinking how to reflect on his time at the club and really couldn’t have put it better. When he got back into the team my son and I loved watching him. I think the season of our promotion from League One he was one of our best players, great one on one defender who was hardly ever beaten in that season. Think he was very underrated that season by lots of fans. But most of all I just admire his dedication and true professionalism. And it appears he’s a decent guy too…hopefully we’ll get to see him back visiting Portman Road in the future. |
