Norwood Aiming to Make Up for Lost Time
at 04:16:01

Super signing though. On paper, we've landed a good one, and really glad her wanted to join us. Hope he can fire us up the league! Every chance he will... good luck, James!

Love the ambition, but we've got to navigate league one first... if we don't respect that, we'll be stuck there for a bit. COYB

Ipswich Town 1-1 Birmingham City - Match Report
at 19:18:16

Terrible day. Very sad as a huge lover of ITFC. I still believe very much though that we have a bright future. The team is so young and improving quickly. Desperately need a goalscorer.

Let's be honest with ourselves though. Blaming Chambers for our season is not constructive or realistic. There have been costly errors from all squad members to contribute to conceding. Chambers has had his share, no doubt. But Collins is the only real class defender we have and he's been injured and in the twilight years. Knudsen had his head turned. Pennington isn't ours and has had good games but has frequently been done in the air. Kenlock is improving but still young, and effective in a strong defence that we just haven't had this season. Bree, decent mostly, but a late season loan. Nsiala has slowly adapted but was poor under Hurst. I could go on. It'll come. But play Chambers or drop him, I think we have just drawn too many games and I don't think it would have been different. Where we have lacked most is up top. Opposition don't fear us. Hurst sold everyone with teeth.

I agree with many here about Evans, he has appointed some poor managers and given them a shoestring. McCarthy did a decent job results-wise with no resources to plug the holes following some really bad post-Magilton years (where we also flirted with the abyss). I feared a repeat when he left us. I know that won't be popular with many on here, but seeing where we were when he arrived and no change in policy from Marcus, this was always a possibility. Hurst could have been a great appointment given time, but we'd have gone down first. Lambert may prove to be, and i actually really like him and his positivity. But we need an owner who gives a S÷×t about us. Step up, Marcus.

So, we rebuild. The future will be better, I really think the youth is good and will do us proud in the coming seasons. COYB.

Sears Out For Nine Months as Town Suffer Another ACL Injury

Such a rotter of a season, but I'll still be supporting the boys til the end. Such a shame as Freddie was getting pretty effective again and he's such a team player. Wishing you a speedy return! We can't give up yet. If we're going down we'll be back, but we ain't down yet! If Judge scores yesterday it's a totally different animal. We'll have chances, and there's still time (just about)

Accrington Stanley 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 20:13:56

Upsets me to say it but actually what we have done today is sized up next season's oppo. We need to let Lambert do the clear out and trust him for the future. Our second string competed well with what we'll most likely face week in week out next season. We are the latest club in a long list of prem calibre clubs that has been serially misrun. We'll be back, but need to back Lambert
Evans is not the man for us, but we'll need a buyer if he goes otherwise we'll be even more b#ll#cks3d.

We'll be back, but these are tough times. Stick together

Hull City 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 17:40:01

I acknowledge that this is a transition period and PH may soon decide on his best side. However, there are players in our squad who are definitely good enough to compete well in this league. Why won't he play them? Still think he's got rid of too many of them (Wag, Garner, McGoldrick, Webster) and we'd be struggling, but we might be a bit higher up the table and with at least 1 win. Why has he dropped Bart?? If fit, would he put Dozzell, Huws, or Bishop in the side??? Not sure I trust he would...

I agree with many of you, too many gambles at once, and none have stepped up to the plate and took their place in the team by the scruff of the neck.

I'm not calling for Hurst's head yet as we do need to give him a chance. But, if we were to drop to League 1, would we trust him to bring us back up?

There's still time to turn it around. Keep patient for a few more weeks at least

Time To Simply Enjoy Being Ipswich Town
at 19:15:32

Thanks for this, smashing read! Spot on, football is about the journey and the thrill of the unpredictable. We'll have a few moments of magic this season, and regardless if the rush comes from the scrap against relegation, the chase for 6th, or maybe even a semi decent cup run, I'm sure there'll be a couple of last minute goals to send adrenaline through us! Enjoy the season, all Town fans! :)

Town Confirm Jackson Signing
at 11:39:24

This is a really exciting time for us! Jackson looks powerful and will cause defences problems. Very sad to lose Waghorn but the money is being put to good use. Even if 3 of our 9 (NINE!) signings prove to be on the money we're in great nick. I have to say though, we're judging Hurst with a glint in our eye and he has been given millions to spend. MM had a pretty thankless job and didn't get any of this, even with sales like Mings, Murphy and Cresswell (Wickham money floating around?) he had to pull some low-cost class out of his behind (Fraser, Celina, Waghorn, Lawrence etc). So thanks MM for taking us through a very tough period, and here's to the new exciting times ahead with Hurst (fingers crossed!)

Milne: Stay With Mick
at 15:29:25

A few feelings I'd like to air to other Town lovers. Is it the worst time I remember being a town fan? It's down there, though when we were 8 points away from safety when Mick took over we were in dire straits. Also, it was pretty crap before Marcus Evans bought us out when were in administration!!

Was last night the worst I have seen town? No, they were worse against Fulham on Boxing Day no doubt, but they were very poor. They were also very bad against Paterborough a few years ago in a 7-1 (pre-MM)... The most disappointing thing about last night was the aimless long balls, Skuse Douglas don't work together, all the things people have already said. The same defence that kept 7 clean sheets in 11 about 2 months ago have looked terrified for several weeks.

Is it all Mick's fault? No. He's had basically no money to spend and has been feeding largely off loans and Bosmans. We've seen Wickham (£11 mil), Cresswell (£3 mil), Mings (£8 mil) and Murph (£3.5mil) leave, and he's only really spent on Knudsen, G ward and Webster to my thinking, costing about £2.5 mil + maybe a small fee of Pitman but I think he's part of the Mings deal? Delaney left as well, as did McCauley. We got Chambo on a free, Berra on a free etc etc etc. The board either have to back him or sack him. I know we're having a very bad season relative to what we've come to expect, but the man has definitely overachieved over 4 years with the money he's had (results wise). He's somehow pulled in 1 or 2 X-factor loan players (Fraser, Williams, Lawrence etc) who've done the business. Before that DJ Campbell and Jimmy Bullard had good loan spells (before MM). I've been a MM fan, but last night was not enjoyable. Saw them vs Norwich at Portman RD and they were tough to beat, hard working, and were maybe unlucky not to win actually, but their heads are down now and their fight is not what it was in the not too distant past. We set up as being hard to beat, but I agree it has become too negative and we need to put the oppo on the back foot more.

Back him or sack him. Sack him, they have to back the new manager or we'll stay as we are/drift closer to league 1. Sack him in the middle of the window then its a bit pointless anyway. Rowett is available, but who else? Hodgson maybe? Let's try and lift them though, I find it hard as well when we're not playing well but remember, it's times like this that make the good times much sweeter!
