McCarthy: They Were Ready for Us
at 09:17:25

It's such a shame that we cannot seem to capitalise on the chance to go top every time we get it! They obviously do need a rest but I agree our squad is too small really. We could really do with a creative midfielder which is what most of us have been saying for the past few years. I would love to see Sears start up front with Murph and then Didzy in the hole behind. COYB - let's get behind them for the Wigan game!!

Bru Looks Set to Join Blues

Well said Unknown100 - I totally agree. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If we get these guys in on "Frees" then I think that is great business on MM part in the current environment post FFP. COYB!!

Would quite like to see Taylor paired with Nouble up front - it would be the first "little'n'large" pairing since Kuqi & Bent. Views??

Orr Keen on Permanent Switch
at 13:30:36

I really hope that he does a job for us - as everyone has already said - MM has seen what we could all see but the last 2 managers couldn't! I'm sure there is a lot of bad blood between him and the supporters over his support for Kean but there seems to be a lot of "good riddance" comments on the Blackburn sites.... Lanacashire Telegraph post: ""Good call" Henning.....Orr was not really good enough." Irrespective of this he deserves a chance and he is saying all the right things. COYB!!!

McCarthy Delighted for Fans
at 08:42:41

Am I the only shocked ans slightly worried by this story....?
"THE FAI would not have to pay any compensation should they wish to secure the services of Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy it has emerged.
The former Ireland manager took over at Portman Road earlier this month and signed a two-and-a-half-year deal. But the 53-year-old had a clause inserted in his contract to allow him leave if his old job became available at the end of this season."
So if he keeps us up, starts to build a team but fancies his old job back where does this leave us??

Holloway Now McCarthy's Main Rival
at 18:24:02

Please let it be true!! I agree with the previous posts in that McCarthy would give some discipline and sort out the dressing room mess but I don't like his style of football. Holloway must have discipline as he has won promotion and nearly won it already BUT he plays a much more attractive style of football and one that is much more in line with that which Town used to play. "Walking along, singing a song, walking in a Holloway-land!! COYB!

Jewell: Cresswell Enquiry But No Bid And We Want to Keep Him

Let's keep him please!!!!! Hopefully he will realise that we want to keep him, he is a key player and that he won't get first team football @ Villa. Let's get him AND Friend and another striker and then we'll be cookiing on gas as they say!

Town Renew Klug Interest

Arnie - your list is good apart from Priskin (???!) - he did nothing apart the wonder goal versus Arsenal.
Mark
Your analysis is spot on. Rather like Irishtim I thought "what the.....!" when Keano was appointed but i was also prepad to give him the benefit of the doubt as I felt we had a soft underbelly and hoped he would introduce some steel. I tried to stick with him as a loyal fan but it became clear that he was tactically inept/naive, a disastrous leader and he made some mind bogglingly bad decisions such as selling Rhodes. The last of these I will never understand and it has taken me a huge effort to forgive - he clearly had no idea what he was doing.

Town Talking to Former Loanee Fuller

A good back and certainly better than the Duke. We do need experience in the squad and a big front man for the Plan B we didn't have last season.

Delaney Impressed By Lawrence
at 08:58:29

In my mind, player of the season is a straight choice between Lee Martin & Aaron Cresswell. I think Martin has been phenomenal since he came back into the side - particularly for the energy he injects into the side. It is hard to believe that this is Cresswell's first season at this level and despite the fact that our defence has been leaky (to say the least!), I'm not sure the blame can be laid at his door. On balance because of consistency, and the number of games Cresswell has played alongside Martin's red card and subsequent lack of games, Cresswell gets my vote!

Kennedy Hadn't Planned Coaching Career
at 08:50:22

Garv - I agree with you totally, I thought he was the major reason (apart from a rare goal from Priskin!) that we came out on top @ PR. I think is much more the right approach for town - easing people with experience of the club into positions where they can help educate the younger players

He has GOT to stay - he will come good and will have a great season next year I am sure. If he can work on his fitness and concentration levels he will be a great asset to us. We've got to think of a song for him - he is the first player for a long time to have the potential to become a REAL fan's favourite

Drury: Don't Underestimate Bristol City Win
at 07:35:49

Monster strike and wonderful goal on Saturday from Drury. For me he has been the biggest difference between now and a few months ago. He has a real hunger and energy and sets the tone for the rest of the team with his constant harrying and closing down as soon as the opposition gets the ball. PJ definitely deserves credit for spotting him and giving him the chance to prove himself again.

Jewell: Town Could Still Make Loan Signings
at 08:47:41

What is it about players not wanting to come to Portman Rd?? McManus has opted after "a change of mind" to join a club 5 places and 9 points below us in the league! I really hope that there is a structured plan being put in place NOW for the summer so we don't end up appearing desperate again. The plan needs to include looking abroad as well.

Jewell: Town Could Still Make Loan Signings
at 17:36:13

I think is a great blog so ignore the more facile and unnecessarily nasty comments here. I have heard from well informed sources and I agree that at a certain level, with a few exceptions, most players have the skill to perform at a high level. What marks out the Premiership players from the Championship players and the Championship players from the League 1 players is the ability to show that skill consistently. Consistency is what we have been lacking and what we are starting to show in a number areas (apart from the defence!). COYB!
