"BBC Weather in association with MeteoGroup" Click on MeteoGroup and it goes to a company website for DTN who don't appear to do anything meteorological. Edit, they do, just hidden away a bit. [Post edited 19 Jul 11:23]

If he was offered x3 salary, surely that's only a mistake in hindsight. Most players would do the same again. |

says its going to thunder and lightning and rain in Ipswich from now until 3pm. The metoffice who they sacked off to cut costs says no rain. lightningmaps has no lightning across the whole of england. who's responsible for this fake news i mean weather report? |

This, and a little tip. Google maps often doesn’t find the quickest route. However, there is an option called “Avoid Motorways” and I have discovered it doesn’t mean avoid motorways, it means “find some smaller roads”. So my advice is use Google Maps but toggle the “Avoid Motorways” on and off to see if it can find a quicker route. |

Dreadful all week but fine today. I think people have just given up by Friday. |

Yes the thread went off on a different tangent which I'm partly responsible for, so appreciate this post getting back towards the original point. |

Sounds a bit like they are trying to compare the quality to the men's game. I can't make a judgment as i've not seen many women's football penalty shootouts. We actually scored 43% of our penalties, so better than the men in the euro 2020 final. |

A good point. If this penalty shoot out was like Ipswich v Luton compared to normal men's professional football shootouts, then yes the penalties were shocking. But if they are often like this in women's football then the penalties are not shocking, because they are women and there is no comparison with men. I'm guessing had it been 5-4 on penalties the goalkeeping would have been "shocking". |
 | Forum Reply | England's women... at 21:18 17 Jul 2025
Why the comparison to the men's game? No women's match is going to be anywhere near the quality of League 2 but why does that matter? Women's football exists in its own right. If you go to a boys under-10 match you don't think ah that's rubbish compared to the adult team, you accept the limitations and take it for what it is. |

That's not a bad stab at it actually. I think someone who is just traditionally left would just say 'someone who insists on treating every individual with the same amount of respect without putting people into group identities'. |

I have no idea who the judge is. Forget the judge. I merely disagree with that length of sentence for words written on social media, whereas someone else, also left wing but more radical would not. |

No it was a more general point really about who supports that sentence and who thinks it is lenient. I don't subscribe to the right's insistence on "lefty lawyers". |

Yes I'm not setting out to be rude and I know people don't like "woke left" either, but I'm on the left and I don't agree with these people, so I need to use a term to differentiate myself from them. |

Hope they've come up with an array of solutions to tackle the fundamental problems with football such as corner-wrestling, time-wasting, simulation and var? No? |

I'm not comparing 16-18 with 9-18, 9-16 or 18-30, I'm talking about incremental increases, and I'm not talking about sexual development either. I don't think you really misunderstood that but I will give you the benefit of the doubt. I think 16-17 and 17-18 are larger incremental changes than 18-19, 19-20, 13-14, 14-15 for example. I'm still only ambivalent to the change, not anti-. There are some positive reasons. [Post edited 17 Jul 16:47]
