I couldn't hear them....
at 11:12 29 Jan 2023

I rarely post so please be gentle with me….!
As usual I was in SBRL Sect 5 but for once was stone cold sober so the whole experience was somewhat different to my normal take on things ! I thought it was a great atmosphere and felt that there was more singing than usual in the Lower despite S6 being up in the gods in Block A. S6 coiled clearly be heard and often from where I was and the experiment was very successful imho - whether it could ever work on a permanent basis is another matter altogether. A friend who sits in Block A every week told me that it was brilliant to actually be part of the atmosphere for once as opposed to normal having to simply watch it !
Well done S6 on your continued efforts but I do accept that nothing is every straightforward & that we can’t all agree on what’s best.

Lowestoft based transport plea…
at 08:14 5 Aug 2022

Hi
There is a group of approx 8-10 of us with ST’s who regularly travel from Lowestoft for home games using the train which of course couldn’t happen last week & wont be an option for the MK Dons match either unfortunately. Are there any Lowey based fans on here who have knowledge please of either a local Supporters Branch or another group of like minded individuals that might be interested in pooling our resources for the MK match to hire a bus or something similar ? Fingers crossed etc….thanks

Lowestoft. Any opinions?
at 19:07 7 Mar 2021

I rarely post on here albeit I view on a daily basis but feel the need to make comment about my place of residence . I’m far from being a local as only been living in Lowey for 33 years but would I genuinely want to live elsewhere ....I’m not so sure. Yes it has its issues mainly due to high unemployment & a lack of industry but I sense a change in the seaside air. There are areas of the town which only a fool would defend BUT having worked extensively in many parts of Suffolk there are far worse places trust me.....however I won’t name the towns in question at risk of offending the residents.
In essence there are some wonderful positive aspects to Lowestoft and in both my professional & personal opinion I’ve found most who dismiss the town do not live anywhere near. My biggest gripe tends to be the increase in Budgie fans these days but there is still plenty of Blue Army around thankfully !

I've just cancelled my Sky package
at 14:24 28 Aug 2019

Well done Sir !........I did this a few seasons back & haven’t regretted it in the slightest. I took the moral high ground that being heavily involved in one of the largest Clubs in East Anglia (approx 54 teams currently) made me fully understand that virtually nothing from the Premier League/Sky Sports circus has ever filtered down to us in grassroots football. We as every other Club have to rely almost solely on Volunteers to keep things afloat when just a relatively small contribution from the powers that be could make all the difference. Does Jim White et al care other than to glorify in the demise of Bury FC ? Parasites doesn’t even come close in my humble opinion.
Much of all my live football these days comes from watching young Boys & Girls playing the sport regardless of weather conditions etc......far more satisfying trust me. Also I have finally been able to justify an ITFC season-ticket for the very first time with already the atmosphere & environment for the Sunderland & AFC Wimbledon home games making it all very worthwhile.
Bury FC won’t be the last to go unfortunately but despite the Town’s current lowly position I have no real interest in us joining the PL & all that comes with it - now that would surely be a case of BCWYWF would it not ?!

Roll Call: Sunderland (h)

First ever season ticket (I’m 53 !!) and more excited than any Xmas eve as a kid ! Catching an early train from Lowestoft with a group (half S/T holders, half not) so probably Degeros & Thomas Wolsey before watching a fine victory for the town - amazed at how many tickets have been sold which should make any Town fan proud

Payback time..........?
at 21:40 26 Apr 2019

After spending too many years simply viewing TWTD I finally feel compelled to join the masses and add comment about the current situation our beloved ITFCS finds itself in.

Yes of course no sane fan or Club ever seeks relegation and this is the harsh reality we face but does it have to be the unmitigated disaster some soothsayers would have us believe ? Perhaps hitting rock bottom ( let’s pray there is nothing worse to follow for our great Club !) may well galvanise the fans as would appear confirmed by the early positive indications regarding season tickets for next season.

I am most certainly a middle aged man and as such still remember the glory days when the Town were battling on all fronts, resulting in both domestic and European success. My favourite memory was seeing The Beat smash one in against Bohemians of Prague one midweek game but could like everyone else recount many others. However through a combination of work , family and grassroots football commitments I have never before purchased a Season Ticket and in fact for many years have only attended Portman Road on a sporadic basis.

But that was then, this is now etc. My few visits this season have seen my enjoying the whole experience and although the Paul Lambert reign is clearly in some way responsible for this it’s the fans creating a wonderful positive atmosphere which has been the key for myself. Therefore now soon to be free from the shackles of Youth football on Saturdays it’s clear that my Club needs my support more than ever........hence the purchase this week of my first ever Season Ticket and the prospect of numerous (probably beer filled !) adventures throughout the coming season.

This Club has given me incredible memories over the years and although times have been lean for far too long I feel the need to try and repay at least some of that......Payback time has arrived for this still proud Supporter at least.
