“Ode to The Town”

Don’t think there’s anyone who hasn’t enjoyed the start of the season. Thought it was a good time to celebrate what we have managed to achieve so far with an “Ode to The Town”.

“Come on You Blues!" the tractor boys and girls all roar,
at Portman Road where nowadays thunderous echos soar.

Second on goal difference, in the Championship fray,
Underdogs from Division One, who would have guessed it, hey?

Above Norwich City, a resolute stance,
Super Kieran McKenna, orchestrating the dance.

Championship battles, a challenging climb,
Will Ipswich’s dreams stand the test of time?

Just a third of the season, rest yet to be unfurled,
Tough journey ahead, an unpredictable football world.

No soaring ahead with presumptive airs,
“One game at a time” the boss man declares.

Do we yearn for the Premier, with VAR's watchful gaze,
or bask in the joy Championship days?

All we know is we’re happy, and back where we belong,
Our revival epitomised in Ed Sheeran’s song.

“Perfect” is the word for it, the way it’s come together,
Our backers, players, management, Ipswich Town forever!
