Morsy Receives Egypt Call

Don't we get a massive amount of money if one of our players qualifies for the World Cup finals? Remember someone saying at one point that if New Zealand had beaten Peru? at one point we would have got something like 3 million (Smith and Monty Patterson). Yet still fans here supported (I think it was) Peru.

3 more points than Norwich? They are in the Premier League! Sadly no comparison at the moment.

Poor defending. Poor is not the right word. Woeful.

We have some difficult games coming up. Never thought I would ever say this but we could be in a situation where the game with Shrewsbury (October 9th) is a relegation 6-pointer. So much hope this season but that hope is evaporating fast. Lose the games against Lincoln and Wednesday and think we will be firmly entrenched at the bottom of the league. And this is League 1 (division 3!).

Carroll: I Don't Believe This is a League One Club
at 22:08:30

Unbelievable when we look at some of the "bigger" clubs than us now. Clubs like Luton, Coventry, Barnsley, Peterborough Utd and Blackpool. A few years back that would have been inconceivable to us hence I think so much frustration from our fans. We need out of this league desperately.

Massive miss there.

Very simple goals scored by Cheltenham. Need to work in training on dealing with crosses or throws into the box. Very route 1 and we didn't cope with it.

When did they stop teaching about the value of patience?

Bobby Robson had 3 (or even 4?) mediocre/poor seasons at Ipswich before the team started to gel and get really good results. We are THREE games into this season. Three. We seem to live in a world where success needs to happen right NOW.

We are playing good football and are creating opportunities in games. Also, we have only played TWO league games so far and did get a point against Morecambe in one of them. The results will come but it will take time for players to gel. This season was only ever meant to be a building season.

Cook: We Played Really Well, But You Just Can't Miss That Many Chances

Good game, plenty of chances created. Clearly, not a great result but think we will have to get used to some dodgy results this season while the new team gets used to each other.

Ipswich Town 0-1 Newport County - Match Report
at 22:59:38

Think people need to look again at the expectations for this season: this is a previous edited post:

"After three, four, five windows, I think we’ll be in a place where everyone wants to be and we’ll be a strong team".

One hundred per cent,” he said. “Would I have Ipswich as favourites? No, I wouldn’t if you look at Sheff Wed, for example, this week bringing Lee Gregory and Marvin Johnson in, going under the radar and signing good players, and they’ve already got a squad full of good players".

My view=

We are in the process of a complete rebuild from top to bottom at the moment. Some fans seem to think automatic promotion is a certainty. I'd be happy with a top half finish this season with the idea that we will make the play-offs next.

Ipswich Town 2-2 Morecambe - Match Report

Think people need to look at expectations carefully for this season:

"After three, four, five windows, I think we’ll be in a place where everyone wants to be and we’ll be a strong team".

One hundred per cent,” he said. “Would I have Ipswich as favourites? No, I wouldn’t if you look at Sheff Wed, for example, this week bringing Lee Gregory and Marvin Johnson in, going under the radar and signing good players, and they’ve already got a squad full of good players".

We are in the process of a complete rebuild from top to bottom at the moment. Promotion would be great; yes. But it's more important that we build a good structure at the club (which is exactly what is happening). Some fans seem to think automatic promotion is a certainty. I'd be very happy if we got into the play-offs this season and continue to rebuild for next.

It's going to take at least 10 games for this team to gel. In the meantime it's great that we had so many shots at goal and had an entertaining game of football against a good team. I thought we were going to lose it so to come away with a point from that game; great.

Bradley Set to Stay at Luton
at 22:30:16

It's good that we are competing for the signatures of players like Rhodes and Bradley. Shows clear ambition but it is going to be a difficult task to get these players to sign. We are likely to lose out to the likes of Huddersfield and Luton Town. If it turns out we were in for Leahy and lost out to Shrewsbury, I'd be more concerned.

Unfortunately, the decision to release Wilson seems a strange one now. Easy however to judge with hindsight (if we had signed Bradley then no issue). It was a risk releasing our player of the season, hopefully it will pan out for us.

It should be noted that there have only been about 20-25 transfers across leagues so far so no need to panic.
