He seems like a lovely lad and we once all wish him the best wherever he ends up, but for Town, cynically, surely the best outcome is him moving to a mid-table Prem team; him kicking on, then stepping up the ladder again for double or triple the money and us making a few extra bob out of giving him his chance this season, rather than him going directly to a top 6 side. |

Agreed that all of these seasons were worse. The wider context needs to be taken into account inn regards to this current one. Football isn’t one long upward trajectory, fans want the moon on a stick these days. The vibes around the club are the best they’ve been for decades |
 | Forum Reply | Have we given up on a striker? at 11:47 31 Jan 2025
This time last January we had 0 fit strikers in the building, this season we already have 2. That’s 2 fit strikers, on permanent contracts, in the building. So maybe we can calm this collective panic a touch? Most people here seem adamant that 3 players for one striker position is the minimum required and we are in jeopardy having any less than this, yet we have 9 attacking forwards for the 3 positions behind the striker, which is roughly 3 for each, yet 2 of them are short term injured and another 2 are now out for the season, making only 5 fit players. Yet the consensus seems to be that signing more forwards to try to have 3 players for each of these positions is frivolous beyond belief.. My point here being; cchhhiiiillllllllllll |

Because our attention has been monetised on an industrial scale, skewing our expectations and attention spans, reducing patience & tolerance, and deepening the powers of anxiety and immediacy. |

The world in general is only interested in opinions nowadays, news outlets mirror comment sections and message boards, 24/7 rolling news requires constant clicks & attention at all costs. We live in the age of content creation, not journalism. |

..How greatly do we feel our chances improve in the shootout for 17th with Wolves if the spectacles crusher is removed from that equation? Interesting to see how we’re improving our squad this month while seemingly Wolves, and our other rivals, can’t afford to? Southampton possibly cashing in on Dibling already seeing as their season is toast |

You do realise that our starting striker this season has as many goals as our starting striker last season had at this point of the season, right? It’s all the other positions who haven’t scored as many, which are the ones we’re upgrading. |

Well Town signing a forward on loan from Brighton when crunch time has walloped us round the face in Jan sure has a familiar tingly feeling to it |

If you stare blanking at his wall of frothing text for long enough, and let your eyes relax into it, like Magic Eye a scene appears: A figure rocking back & forth on a home office chair, eyes swivelling in their sockets bathed in the blue light of a computer screen past a certain hour. His hands dart about in the stale darkness, grasping wildly at the imaginary straws invading his vision, whilst the tattooed portrait of Jeremy Goss winces with embarrassment from beneath the yellow & green dressing gown. Makes a change from a jumping dolphin, tbf. |

I meant the other clubs involved, who were docked points last season. Leicester essentially deferred their points deduction to when they go down to the championship next season, and the EFL will be licking their lips at fairly shafting Leicester, after they’ve gotten away with cheating them twice now. Delicious. |
