 | News Comment | McCarthy: Win Was Culmination of Week of Good Performances at 09:00:06
Was at the game yesterday and really enjoyed it. Preston hardly had a shot on target managed expertly by our defense. I really like Webster, good defender and composed and skillful with the ball, same for Carter Vickers (would be a fantastic permanent signing) and Chambers is probably as good as he's going to be in middle (which is pretty good). Carayol was brilliant yesterday, it does make you wonder how the hell did we get him on a free transfer? Where did it go wrong for him? Is it just a succession of managers who like to buy their own players and are indulged by clueless owners with money to burn or does his have a attitude problem? Not sure, but if he plays like that next season he could make a real difference. Personally I hope Mick stays, think there are genuine reasons to be positive for next season. With a midfield coming back from injury the like of which would grace any to championship team and other good defenders and forwards we have the bones of a team that can challenge. Anyway great day, team played really well, COYB. |

Well done Mick, he deserves huge credit for seeing ITFC through the season. Took all of the flak on himself, never once looked to divert blame and absolutely refused to walk. Bravo!. To those who think he's self serving and only after the money I just don't agree. If he had left had or been sacked he would have been managing one of our rivals within the year. Get your tin hat on and get behind him, he's not going anywhere (not at least till after next season). Good! |

He's one of the best managers at this level who seems to be able to get the best out of young players and the forgotten. I know that some of this season's has been bad but the squad has been threadbare and the money he's had to spend hasn't been enough to buy the players he wants. We are now a poor club in a league full of teams who have tens of millions to spend, we need to keep Mick he's our best chance of any sort of progression. |

Went to game today fantastic result, forwards looked a bit slow and ineffective until Maitland -Niles came on. He's a great player, great skills and fast, great from Fraser as well. |
