I have had one of these for 10 years and I can thoroughly recommend them. If you have roof space above they have the advantage of not blocking the access to this when open.
As you say there will be a number of factors - not just one.
From my experience watertight integrity (or the lack of it) is an issue when vessels are alongside/at anchor/a buoy in sheltered waters and the resulting false sense of security that comes with the perceived relative safety of these.
I don’t profess to have know all the details of this particular case but like you Newcy I can give it a very educated guess from 40+ years (rather than just 4 days!) experience as a Marine engineer in the RN.
The yacht is to be ‘pulled from the ocean's depths’ states The Mirror. Terrible reporting as she is currently sat in about 50 metres…
Anyway, sad story all round, and it will be interesting to hear the evidence about water-spouts, super yacht design and the watertight integrity state of the vessel at the time of sinking.
I still believe he won’t complete 4 years in office. Whether that is due to old age illness, assassination or impeachment is anyones guess but the U.S. won’t put up for this bumpy ride of continual chaos for that long.
As before there is plenty of noise about what he is going to do but fails to actually achieve anything - he just gets bored when it gets too complicated and moves onto the next ‘deal’.
I think he has fell short of the expectation considering his rapid rise and the transfer dealings since last summer. Whether it affects his stock with potential PL teams next season I’m not sure about that - but had we survived I would have thought he would have more offers to tempt him away.
