Gillingham 0-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 21:15:34

Blueboy1981 I agree! Two games in and the euphoria is throu the roof. It’s early days folks, very early days. Granted the performances have improved markedly, but let’s face it, it was only Gillingham today. Let’s not forget, this is still PC’s squad, we all thought this was in the main, a quality group, and KMcK has acknowledged that. The early signs are promising, and long may that continue, but think we all need to keep our feet firmly on the ground. COYB

Town Confirm McKenna Appointment
at 07:26:31

The range of comments on here replicate exactly the reaction to the last however many managerial appointments down the years. What we ALL want of course is for this to be THE appointment. Terry Butcher summed it up for me following the debacle that was the Barrow game. We are not a big club anymore and we have to move on from the past. Regardless of the name and CV there are always risks that it wont work out as Ipswich fans know with bitter experience. Let us hope that in this case, it does. COYB.

Town Closing in On McKenna

Risky, to say the least. I assumed that our American friends demanded promotion this season so expected a “signature” appointment which this clearly wouldn’t be. If it goes a head, I for one won’t be expecting anything but another season in this shi5 hole division! But saying that, I have been known to be wrong before…….

Barrow 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report

Could it get any worse? Well yes, actually it could. If there is one thing you can be sure of is that we are capable of lowering the standards to an even lower level of embarrassment. A team capable of winning this league? You are having a laugh!!

Mowbray Linked With Town Vacancy

Exactly how much success has Mogga enjoyed? Hardly a stella managerial career to date albeit the Blackburn run just now seems to bearing fruit but after considerable time and disappointments along the way. Another name, another risk!

Harris Believed to Be Keen and Under Consideration
at 21:07:19

Thankfully it wont be any of us making the call on our next manager and judging by the comments on here concerning all the linked names we'd never reach a consensus anyhow. The only thing I'm convinced of is this. Past achievements or lack of is no guarantee of success! I just want the right one, someone who can turn this lumbering giant round and head it back in the right direction because for twenty years now it's been heading into oblivion.

Chelsea Legends Lampard and Terry Linked

No and no! Oh, and No to Lennon too! This appointment is truly the mother of all poison chalice jobs with no guarantees that who ever gets the job will sort it. Given our managerial appointments over the last 20 years, I'm not confident. Cook came with the right CV and look how that worked out! Surely our luck has to change soon?

Manager Cook Sacked
at 19:47:19

Is 10 months long enough with two different squads an acceptable timeline to move things in the direction we all want? I would suggest not. BUT it was a worry when there was no visible”bounce” when he first came in and since then his very one dimensional style of play seemingly unable to change things when they clearly needed changing. This will be the first managerial appointment of the new owners, lets hope it’s the start of something positive after the dire appointments of the Evans era.

Ipswich Town 0-0 Barrow - Match Report
at 19:27:25

Spare a thought for those 6200 odd hardyTown fans who had to witness that dross! We’re now coming up for 10 months with Cook in charge and but for three or four standout performances and results he’s hardly set the earth on fire. As many have alluded too, he’s stats are pretty awful, probably one of our worst managers, statistically , ever. The team, in my opinion, is there but for whatever reasons it’s not “clicking”. I’m loathed to be calling for his head because I actually accept that it does take time to turn these things around but my worry, based of what I’ve seen of his performance thus far, is that he does not appear to have the competence to be able to achieve it.

Us against Liverpool!!!!! Or even the Scum!!! We’re light years away from being any near that standard, we’re unable to beat an u21 team FFS!! Anyway given our appalling record against supposedly “lesser” teams I won’t be too surprised if it’s Barrow in the hat come Monday evening!!!!

Ipswich Town 2-2 Arsenal U21s (3-4 on pens) - Match Report

Ipswich Town 2-1 Crewe Alexandra - Match Report
at 22:24:43

It’s just not “clicking” is it? We huff and puff to a win, which is always welcome, over a team already accepting relegation. If we don’t put a run together soon, very soon, I see this season petering out to mid table obscurity. With every passing week I lose a little less confidence in PCs ability to get this considerably talented squad firing on all cylinders. More and more I think he may be the problem, hope I’m wrong..........
