McCarthy: Preston Don't Want to Sell Hugill
at 15:24:43

I wouldn't mind betting that the club knew all along these bid's would not be accepted, and this was made public to look like we were trying to spend money, which all along there was no intention. I agree we should not be spending more than £2mil, but plenty other good ones available for that.

Varney Expected to Sign Ahead of Reading Clash

I'm sorry, but is this really the best we can get. Our owner needs to back his manager (the best we have had in years) or we stay where we are forever. I for one do not fall for this fair play rules rubbish. Doesn't worry Bournmouth, Watford or Brentford with crowds of 1 man and a dog. We need quality at this stage not journey men.

Keane Set for Target Talks
at 13:22:55

It is fair to say that without the investments of Marcus Evans (whoever he is) administration would have been certain, so we should be grateful to him for saving us from this. So what drove a highly successful business man to invest in a football club. Publicity, to raise the image of his already expanding empire one would expect.

Not better way than to appoint an extremly high profile manager in R.K. This way the Sky cameras would be constantly at Portman Rd. interviewing our manager about any kind of topic with the 'Marcus Evans' slogans all around, hence generating that publicity he wants.

With 2 high profile cup ties coming up this meadia interest will be intensified in the coming week, so sacking of R.K. at this stage would not be in M.E.'s interest.

Whether or not M.E. decides that keeping R.K. at the club for publicity is more important than the football club he owns in serious danger of being relegated remains to be seen, however he should not expect the same amount of publicity in Div 1, Roy Keane or not
