Having been at the game today I was interested to see the pre match TTV package - and I've been really impressed with the production quality and the professional look of it. Having a media savvy team of pundits and presenters made the whole thing look really good. I think Westlake is excellent on co-comms and Holland/Ambrose equally comfortable, knowledgable and insightful. Decent product, this! |

Can I just say that I thought Greg was MOTM tonight, and that he is super unlucky to be behind such a good player in Davis. He has great energy and strength, and of all of our second string players, he's the most like for like switch at LB. If he left, I'm sure he'd walk into any number of first teams... That’s a hell of a drop for him - he can’t be getting Mullin type money, either? Or maybe it’s to get more golf in with Gwion? Either way, what’s the story behind this? |

I'm sure many of us remember when realistically we were treading water in the Championship, with us trying to get enthusiastic over the latest free signing that the club would announce - then as it became clear that we were going down, the debate ensued about relegation giving us time to rebuild. I would suggest that in the long run going down to L1 has been actually a positive thing for the club. New owners, infrastructure, a vision, a plan, and more importantly a chance for the fan base to prove that we care about the club and its direction. Apathy has been replaced by passion, I've not seen this much of a connection between the club and the community in my 25 years of going to the games. I remember McCarthy saying that the results would determine the crowd numbers, at a time when we were pulling crowds of 15k, but it's not been about that, has it - it's that we can now identify with and relate to the guys on the pitch, to see a club that gives back to the community it serves, and in return the team gets a level of support that inspires them. So what do you think, with hindsight and all that - was going down to L1 right thing for the club? |

I've read a fair bit about how 'intimidating' Oakwell will be on Tuesday, but by my reckoning, Barnsley are averaging 11k out of a capacity of 23k for their games at home, and we are bringing 5k on Tuesday. Just need the fast start, high intensity and the away fans to make the noise! |

The reasons for pausing the football programme may have been merited, if not properly thought through, but I felt the silence for the Queen, and GSTK were really well supported. Kudos to Blue Action for the banner supporting Marcus Stewart too. We might have a few numpties amongst our fan base, but when it matters, we come together superbly. |

Stephen Martin - remember the name - penalty turned down, but the disallowed goal was the cherry on the cake. EFL refs are consistently dreadful. [Post edited 27 Aug 2022 22:44]

 | Forum Thread | Shirt signing fans? at 23:28 29 Dec 2021
I noticed at the front of the East of England/Britannia/Pioneer stand tonight a couple of lads who had a town shirt with cardboard backing trying to get all the players to sign it - every time a sub ran past they'd be out of their seat haranguing for a signature. I'm not sure that sits well with me. |
